That is not true. There's no such thing as " physically addicted" . What the f**k does physically addicted even mean? Just because you're not throwing up or tweaking means your not addicted? If you need something to function and feel normal and well then you are addicted. Pot may not be herion or cocaine but it is addictive and there are withdrawal symptoms.

If your addicted to herion and are going to die from why would you talk about it online saying that weed withdrawal is nothing because herion is worse? Your not even a interesting herion addict. Seriously it's like an insult.

If your a herion addict go f*****g overdose and die already as opposed to whining in the Internet. Your a f*****g herion addict what is wrong with your screwed up brain that you think it makes sense to call people addicted to weed pussies? Seriously dude you have nothing better to do? Get some clean needles or something. And why the f**k would you pay money to have things to access the Internet with? That's herion money. At least there are some smart junkies, not you though

First, I want to thank everyone who is trying to help their self, help others, and make decisions in their lives for the better.

As far as heroin addicts downplaying anyone else’s addiction, don’t pay attention to them. Just because they’re addicted to one of the most addictive substances in the world, doesn’t mean that a marijuana addiction (or any other addiction) is insignificant to living a happy and healthy life. The last thing you should do is let somebody’s opinion who you don’t even know, get to you (Especially a heroin addict, you know that they’re not thinking properly). Anyone who has been addicted to marijuana (be it physically or mentally) knows that there are both physical and mental withdrawal symptoms.

Here’s my story. I've been smoking marijuana for 23 years daily approximately a half ounce a week. I smoked as soon as I woke up (it would help me go to the bathroom), after I took a shower, and right before I left for work. I would smoke as soon as I got home from lunch and right after I ate lunch and headed back to work.  I would smoke as soon as I got home from work, before dinner and after dinner. The break that I would consciously give myself would be not smoking for a half hour before I went to the gym. After the gym I would smoke about every half hour to every hour until I went to sleep and then repeated this every day during the week. On weekends I would smoke every half hour to every hour when at all possible.  Needless to say, it was running my life.

For personal reasons I have decided to stop smoking and stopped cold turkey.  Today is day 12 for me and I am still having withdrawal symptoms. I have insomnia and have had nightmares every night so far, lack of appetite, sweats including cold sweats in hands and feet, anger, depression, boredom, aches and pains in some joints, digestion problems such as constipation, upset stomach and loud stomach noises, blurry vision, and general restlessness. My cravings for smoking have greatly subsided but they still come around now and then.  I’m hoping they’ll all go away soon.

Reading everyone’s post has helped me and I know that I am not alone. I wish you all the best of luck overcoming what obstacles are before you (even the unproductive, anti-productive heroin addicts).

You should have wrote your story on some heroin help page instead on ragging on people trying to better themselves. Seems like quitting heroin makes you more of an as****e.

As someone who had smoked my whole life, that statement is absolutely incorrect. Marajauna absolutely 100% has addictive qualities to it.

I am going thru it right now. I have almost the exact same story only instead of starting at 14 I stared at 12 but only to experiment then at around 15 I was doing it all the time almost 24/7 because we'll I live in HAWAII! But I love your story about feeling almost imprisoned by the need to be glued to your bong lol I feel your pain. I've quit in the past for school and work but this is the first time I've haven't had the burning urgent need to take a puff, just the Los of apatite and insomnia got me! but hey it's day 3.

That used to be true.. Not anymore.. Since the legalization of Pot in some places, dispenseries have been growing strains of the plant and sell in there store. Pot with T.H.C levels off the charts, never seen before.. In these high levels, if smoked on a regular basis, can and will produce withdrawal symptoms that are physical.. ESPECIALLY if quit cold turkey. Not as intense as say a heroin withdrawal but, a bad day or two.. Still not pleasant.. Ask the foaks in Colorado now.. Go ahead.. Smoke all day.. Get used to your pot.. Cause some are finding out.. You ain't quittin cold turkey nowadays days.. And if you do.. Your not gonna wanna do much of sh*t for 24-48 hrs.. lol.. 4 real.. Better back your self of slowly with this "super" bud..

I am having Flatulence is my problem. Man it is driving me crazy and nothing else. Do you have any tips and how long to it took for your stomach to be normal again? Doctors seem to be confused, colonoscopy results came out clean and probably will have endoscopy done as well.

To the guest who claims there are no physical withdrawal symptoms, effects or addiction regarding cannabis.
Do some proper research before you post rubbish about reality hitting people.
There are mild physical effects and major physiological effects when quitting and/or reducing cannabis use. And cannabis users dont need your negativity when trying to quit.

It seems your still living in the 90s. Well now its been a year since you left your post you may now have had your eyes opened up regarding cannabis addiction.
Also how can cannabis addiction associated with a social aspect crucially as most addicts are in there home with no social life struggling by themself.

You’re right. No physical addiction. But you’re wrong about your little comment after. It’s not reality hitting you in the face, if you smoke enough for long enough you will have withdrawal symptoms. No it’s not like withdrawing from a psysically addictive substance. But you will experience an incredible emotional withdrawal. Marijuana is a mood stabilizer for some, for some there is more of an emotional attachment. I’m 24 and since the age of 13 I have smoked almost every day. Dealt with an eating disorder, dealt with my fathers death. So it’s something I connect with not eating and something that my father and I connected on during his treatments. And aside from that from the age of 18 I’ve smoked about an ounce a week, maybe two weeks. It’s never been a social thing for me, and I’m not against weed at all... clearly. But you shouldn’t connect your opinions with actual facts. I love weed and I’ll always love weed. But I can definitely say that there are significant mental and emotional connections. :) that’s all
