About 10 days ago i fell over and thought i'd sprained my ankle. After about a week the swelling went down and i thought i was on the road to recovery with only negligable pain. However, a hard lump painful to the touch remained on my foot which i have found out is a fracture on my 4th metatarsal.
I have a cast on my leg and foot but will do anything to be rid of it. I am not coping very well with having crutches and a foot in plaster, but am otherwise a young, fit and healthy person with no medical problems. I am going to see the doctor at the hospital tomorrow for a check-up... I just believe that if i was able to walk with virtually no limp or pain, a cast may be unnecessary.
In an ideal world i understand that i should keep the cast and try to get on with my life until the bone fully heals. But I am both prepared and keen to get this cast off and get back to normality.
Does anyone know of instances of those who have had their cast off before the standard 6 week period and what their experiences have been (both good and bad).
