I have been on methadone for 3 months and I have not had a period yet and I ask my counselor and she said none of her patients have reported it to her but she would ask the nurse but I feel relieved from these post plus I have took several pregnancy test and they are all negative. Thank God!

WOW you are putting methadone down what drugs were you on before you went to treatment there is a lot of side effects on the street drugs it's just most of us don't notice because we are too high all of the time. Methadone has saved my life. Good luck when you get off of it and hope you don't go back to the other junk. One more thing my clinic decreases your dose whenever you want to start detoxing maybe you need to talk to someone at the clinic.

I've been on 15 mg tablets for one year for back pain best choice I've made in I also take oxycodone thirtys n the methadone has been the best for my pain by far won't do the liquid at all I've had pain since age 27 from some coworker leaving a piece of plastic on floor went in to work at nine pm didn't know plastic was their went flying across the floor n down on concrete floor went in did job next five days couldn't move had my boyfriend carry into hospital they wrote me an m.i R to see why the pain didn't relieve found out I had mild disc disease n stop working for three months first doc started me on 15 mg n asked me what kinda work I did fire n flood will we all know after two yrs u gotta do another MRI in now theirs more issues n back a pain that goes down right leg in two in my neck that seems to be bugging me more n more but if I didn't get on domes I don't know where life would be . But have gain weight n missed periods a lot in sick of that issue what makes me sick the liquid Ive saw friend do their dosage n run get the boy why ...in its harder for people like me to fine my sh*t every month n I'm sick of that . I just want to loose my fat I've gained from domes but rather take tabs then anything just want to be able to poop more n loose this weight n have a period every month

If you lower your dose a lot of these side effects will go awAy! Any weight gain,and sugar cravins or fatigue or sleep too much...you dont get constipated. Nearly as much! Plusyou lose weight...

I know you posted this a year ago but I loved hearing how you juice everything and drink it. I also juice everything under the sun and drink it with my nutri bullet. The reason I found this sight was because I missed my period on methadone and wondered if it was normal. Found out it is, but then I read your post and you sound so much like me! Im on methadone too (just started a couple months ago) and I also own a nutri bullet juice a couple times a day. My main juice is I fill the large nutri bullet cup with half full of kale then a half a beet, blueberries and a few strawberries. Wheat grass powder or some other super powder mix then a tablespoon of flax seeds. I do use coconut oil everyday but I use it to "oil pull" look it up if your not sure what that is. Its sounds weird but its changed my life. It truley has. So I hope you get to read this if you still check this site.
if you want to update me on how your doing. Or if you have any advice for me on the whole methadone situation. I think its a good thing for me right now but I hope to get off of it in a year once my brain starts making its own healthy chemicals.

I started taking methadone 2006 the first year I had messed up menstrual cycles then by february 2008 my periods ended completely. I too googled because the clinic didn't seem to accept or admit my beautiful teeth was all rotting also. So anyway now I'm gradually coming off methadone and now I'm getting cramps and spotting so yes methadone messes with horomones and teeth. Be careful though you can still get pregnant. This causes a confussion with still getting pregnant.

I onow its been awhile since you posted but I was just curious if you are still doing oil pulling and if so have the effects Ben as they promised in the articles? Are you still taking methadone and how are you doing with your recovery? You had mentioned that you decrease your dose and in doing so you had a lot of promising things happen which included weight loss, insomnia, memory loss etc... are you still seeing positive results since you have decreased your jokes? I am only asking because I am on methadone as well and have been for several years. I have every side effect of that is known to man include memory loss, weight gain, I cannot tolerate the Heat, sweating profusely and I still go through withdrawal every morning the my are not unbearable but they are uncomfortable. If it's true about decreasing your dose and being able to have the chance of losing some of these side effects then I would deal with the withdrawal effects in hopes that my body will eventually even out. Methadone definitely saved my life but I am at the point where I can not go through. Detox process because at the moment I have dental work that is needed and cannot get it completed until I have the money to do so and unfortunately methadone helps subside the pain that I would normally be going through if I were not taking it. At this point I know I'm ready to get off of it but I can not, the side effects are keeping me from living a normal life anymore. But I am between a rock and a hard place because if I get off of it then I would be miserable on a daily basis because of dental pain and if I stay on it I have to deal with the side effects which being overweight , not having the get up and go to do daily activities with my children and being depressed are three of the most debilitating side effects.

I had been on Methadone for Over 8 years! Detoxed off of 15mg. Then went back on METHADONE about 6 months later due to a very scary relapse! I never had a problem with Methadone and my menstrual cycle being so late! Is this normal? For Methadone to make me miss a month of my Period!

Hi I been on Methadone for a little over a year now and this is the first time i have missed my Period for the month of December but there have been plenty of times that my Period has been all off track since i been on Methadone my monthly Period's has been coming all kinds of different date's in the month's but in the month i have came on it just be different day's in the month but i never missed a whole month at all so im am kind of worried if im pregnant again i just had a baby sunday the 8th will be a year that i just had a baby one year ago ok im now 35 years old could it be the methadone possibly the reason that i haven't seen my period yet or can you missed your period's for month's while being on Methadone is it possible or not i need to know what's going on with my period while i been on Methadone for over a year now somebody can you give me some kind of answer's about my situations right now Please Ladies.

I have been on methadone for almost 4 yrs. After the first three months I stopped menstruating. I was on 70 mg for 3 years and began coming down on my dose 1 yr ago. I am down to 5 mgs now and just started my period. It was a big surprise! I'm only 31 and I was beginning to think I couldn't have children... ever. I guess it was just the methadone.

I was on heroin for 5 years and I had no period at all. I got on methadone but on birth control so it wasnt a real period. I recently stopped birth control in January and had periods in February and march. I'm still waiting for my April period which right now is 3 days late. My pharmacist said that methadone can make your period late and not to worry but just to be sure take a pregnancy test if period is more than a week late
