Ladies, I have been dealing with these terrible, painful tears for about a year. I visited my normal primary doctor and I was told it was "nothing". I FINALLY went to my OBGYN, and she said it was NOT herpes, or a yeast infection. She did not know the cause of it, but she prescribed me 2 creams. One was a steriod cream (Triamcinolone Acetonide) and one was an anti-fungal cream just in case it was a fungal infection (Nystatin Cream, USP). These creams are a miracle. My OBGYN told me to put on each cream twice a day, alternating them. So that'd be steroid, anti-fungal, steroid, anti-fungal each day. This literally cleared up all of my symptoms in a matter of 2 days. PLEASE see your Gynecologist and ask about these creams! They are very cheap, and it's worth it.

I have the issue of a recurring perenium skin tear and my doctor just prescribed me medication to cure a 'bacterial infection' as everything I've tried for yeast infections doesn't seem to help. Besides, I don't really have the symptoms of a yeast infection, except the 'cut' after sex, which is often misdiagnosed as the consequence of a yeast infection. The name of the medicine to cure the bacterial infection is METRONIDAZOLE. I just started using it, I will keep you guys posted on how it goes. (A lady on another post had this problem and it worked.)

I suffered this for a year. Every time I was having intercourse I would have a cut. I got culture made for recurrent staph infections in skin, and turned out I had also in the perineum. Doctor prescribed benzoyl peroxide wash to use daily in shower. That resolved the paper cut issue.

You guys it's not an STD. I have the same thing you need to Google "fissures on vaginal area" and it will help. These can come from wrong kind of soaps, scratching, rough sexnor whatever. But mostly it's becuase of things being too tight down yonder. So no more things and boy shorts for us. I had these cuts, like thin paper cuts between my vaginal opening and my anus and it hurt like hell. I would get little spots of blood on my tissues and all, and it itched so bad I would scrath at it and caused more tears and for my vagina to turn red and swell up. All that is needed is for you to lay off of sex for a while, switch to loose cotton underwear, keep the area moisturized and able to breath..so no tight tight pants or panties. The fissures should slowly start to go away.

I have been getting tears since my hysterectomy. Its awful for my self esteem and marriage. My husband doean't understand why i do not wamt to be physical. He thinks its am excuse. It just happens no control no cure no hope. I use aquahpor to try to help. I am so sick of the itching pain bleeding when it tears burning when urinating. I thought a hysterectomy would help by ending the severe pain with Endometriosis. Well now its phase two of girl hell yeah. Thank you to all for your advice and suggestions. My heart feels for every one of you.

I'd just like to add that if there are tears or any kind of bleeding, not only is lidocaine not a good idea, but I'd steer clear of vagisil, too. The numbing only really works for itching and irritation. Applying vagisil to open rashes or tears will cause an awful burning sensation that stays for at least an hour or two (and even after that if you move in the wrong way) that is just NOT worth the mild relief it brings.

It could be Lichen Sclerosus, or dermatitis.

Hey everyone, so I currently have what's developed from an inflamed irritation to now a small tear on my perineum. This is the second time I've had these suckers that hurt like hell and I knew where both came from. The first time I had a cut there I'm 99.9% sure it was from rough sex. After going to the doctor and getting checked for STDs (all came back negative) he prescribed me some antibiotic pills (Sulfamethoxazole) and a numbing gel (Lidocaine ointment) which BOTH worked like a charm. I have a new tear now almost 2 years later. I felt the irritation rising after I put on this new cotton thong I had never wore and never will again let's just say that. So I'm using the same medicines he prescribed instead of going back to the doc. So NO don't automatically assume you have an STD, just know that for some ppl like me that area is SUPER sensitive. No extremely rough sex and no tight cotton thongs smh. I'm making sure I keep the area lubricated as well with probably pure Vaseline or A&D ointment to prevent tears as well. Good luck hope this helps!

Hi - I have had some cracks in my skin between my vagina and anus a few times, painful to touch and pee/wipe of you touch them-my doctor swabbed that area and got it tested but came back negative for everything which is good - he said might be a yeast infection or might be due to skin being dry and stretched when you have sex. I used coconut oil last night and they are now healed (next morning)! I think they were just from having sex and the skin there was dry and got stretched too much causing the dry skin to crack- coconut oil just before bed so it can moisturise overnight, it's perfectly healed now.

I have that same cream home that I got from a compounding pharamacy. I agree with you very strongly. I had used it for quiet a while and then one day the applicator hit the wrong spot and I had blood and I got scared. So I have stayed away from it.
However, I found that cream worked very good After hearing what you said, I am convinced. I just got a tear yestersday or a cut and I know its because of the dryness in the pernimum. The compounding cream is much better. Right now I am using vagifem when I remember and that is not good. You have given me courage to use it by writing your message.

I feel your pain! For almost 15 years. When my husband and I started dating he had no idea his GF had cheated on him. So we both have herpes and I found out because of that little tear that wouldn't heal. So since then our sex life is non existent. Every 6 months we try and I'm reminded again why we don't do it. I only have an outbreak maybe once every 1.5 years but the skin is so thin I always tear no matter how careful and how much lube we use. Maybe surgery is the only answer
