I feel your pain! For almost 15 years. When my husband and I started dating he had no idea his GF had cheated on him. So we both have herpes and I found out because of that little tear that wouldn't heal. So since then our sex life is non existent. Every 6 months we try and I'm reminded again why we don't do it. I only have an outbreak maybe once every 1.5 years but the skin is so thin I always tear no matter how careful and how much lube we use.

Hi all! So glad to know I wasn't alone in this issue. This has been happening to me a few times a week for the past 4 months. It was so frustrating! I finally got an appointment with my gyno last week and she thinks that my birth control is causing my perineum tissue to thin and develop little fissures (they look like paper cuts if you take a mirror down there). She prescribed me nystatin/triamcinolone (a steroid cream) to use for 2 weeks morning and night, and Estrace (an estrogen cream) to dab on the area once a day for 2 weeks. She said this can be used as needed thereafter. I also began washing my undies completely separately from my clothes on the highest temperature and just about a teaspoon of non-scented/perfumed laundry detergent and adding another rinse after. And hallelujah, ladies, IT'S WORKING. I encourage you all to try this!

I have been having the same issues...multiple splits in the skin between the vaginal area and the anus for about a year. I have tried all the remedies suggested. I suspected that the lint from toilet paper as part of the problem...possibly the chemicals on the paper causing irritation and skin breakdown. What worked for me is avoiding toilet paper completely. I cut up a cotton T shirt into 6x6 squares and blot myself after urinating, wash out the cotton square to dry for next time. When out, and can't avoid public restroom, I use the paper seat liner to blot myself...it is kinda like tissue paper and does not leave lint like most toilet paper. When I had the slits in my skin, I used Desitin Zinc cream on the area especially at night. My skin has been clear for a month now. Thankfully. I hope this helps fellow sufferers.

I have the same problem. I actually just discovered it happened again this morning. A good way to heal it is to buy some episom salts. Make a warm bath and soak for an hour. It will disinfect and clean it. Allowing it to heal faster. Follow up with some aquaphor. It's a skin healing lotion. Both the salts and lotion are very inexpensive. You shouldn't spend more than $15 on it. $10 if you just buy the small bottles.

If you have INTENSE itching, it is a yeast infection

I'm also having this issue...I do have issues with my immune system and eczema. I recently just had a massive "flare up" and had eczema patches covering my scalp, face, neck, upper arms, inside of my thighs...I even still have eczema inside my belly button. During this flare up I noticed a patch down between my vagina and my rectum...it has since cracked. Knowing I had all these other issues I have just been keeping clean and trying to use natural products after showering to keep the skin from getting more irritated or too dry and cracking more. As for the other areas I mixed clove oil with rose oil and avacado oil and my eczema areas have cleared up completely except for my scalp and belly button, but I haven't tried essential oils down there out of fear.

Go to a dermatologist instead of a Gynecologist.
I used to have these recurring cuts on my perineum and suffered from constant itching on my vulva for about 8 months. I visited 3 gyno and none of their medicines helped. Then finally i went to a dermatologist she diagnosed it as a fungal infection/dermatitis it may be due to dandruff or excessive oil secretions or even allegic reaction to soap. I was given tablets and ointment for 2 weeks. Within one week my entire itching disappeared including the perineum cuts. And has never reoccurred again.

Hope this helps :)

It is vaginal psoriasis. Your gyn should do a biopsy to make sure. There is no cure in sight. Your gyn will prescribe an ointment/cream it is a steroid. Keep the area moist with coconut oil.

I would suggest that if this is recurring, that you should be tested for herpes. Herpes often isn't included in a standard STD test. Herpes isn't typical of what you see when you google it and more people than not carry the hsv virus also infected people often don't know they have it because they are asymptomatic meaning the don't show the 'classic' signs, if any. If you get cold sores and contract genital herpes hsv 2 (commonly) your outbreaks maybe not be as bad because you already have some of the antibodies in your system. Something to consider is all. Of course it can be other things! I just think the general knowledge of herpes especial genital is rather black and white. Knowledge is power ppl. Take care!

I get the same! My perineum gets dry and I get these thin vertical tears. I have one that never really heals more rounded. They cause me no discomfort. It started after I had a yeast infection 8 months ago and was scratching that area bad then I put a lot of cream on it and it caused a pimple.. Which flattered and that's the spot that's never really head. I've been tested for stds including herpes I've had swabs and nothing. I can feel a couple of small lumps in my posterior fourchette/perineum (one is the 'sore' I think) the area gets itchy sometimes. I'm in my 20s and haven't been sexually active for a good few months and I've been off the pill for nearly a yr after taking it for 9 yrs. I do get eczema on my hands sometimes. I've just been proscribed a cream from my gp, It is used to treat three different skin conditions: genital warts, small superficial skin cancers and actinic keratoses. My sore does seem to have a couple of dark pin prick dots in the middle (have to zoom in on my phone camera for them to show) so maybe warts? I did have gardisal though hmm. Will book a gyn apt in a couple of months anyway. Last paper (last yr) was neg.

Hi, I have had this problem and surprisingly the doctors did not know what caused the cut but said they had something to help. They pescribed me to this chemist made cream which had sesame oil and a cream, this helps heal it! Once the cut was gone I have started using almond oil, just apply for 2mins in genial massage and leave it
Remember keeping your vagina clean is really important! I use saforella which is a cleaning non-soap product, it has made a big improvement, do not swim in chlorine as it is a chemical and can cause reaction! Hope it gets better but remember, this won't kill you! You can sort it out! And don't be scared to see a doctor, that is what they are there for!

I have been having this problem as well, but only after sex. My gyno tested for bacteria which weakens the skin (it could be ecoli or others) and the cream she gave me has helped and I haven't had a year since!
