Very relieved that I am not going crazy. This has happened to me for months. The first was tiny and ever since I've just gotten more and some in worse places. The itching occurs to me as well. I have had no sexual partners (virgin) so that rules any stds out and whenever I told my mother she became so accusing and I think she is convinced I'm lying about being a virgin. I am in ballet so I do stretch a lot (splits.. etc.) so I first thought it had something to do with that but I don't think so because it is very random when it happens and where. Suggestions on what to do to ease the pain? Going to the bathroom and stretching when the cuts are present is extremely painful and the itching can be even worse.

After years of only using non biological washing powder and no fabric conditioner, I stupidly brought a biological and fabric conditioner in one! Result sore and itchy down there. As soon as i put two and two together i switched to a non bio and re washed all my clothes. Has improoved significantly but i think due to wearing thongs/g-strings and skinny jeans it has continued to be irritated and sore. Not a cut as such but i guess a scratch would be a good description is still prooving sore and irritable. I'm thinking some of the ideas here might help clear it up, in terms of keeping super clean, and trying some cream/anti bacterial soap/and sleeping with out pj bottoms.

yes i have been diagnosed with it ,and have been given canistan cream and to use loads of aques cream and when you shower let the water just run through your personal bits no soap ,mine is much better doing this as i could not sit down for the shooting pains and a throbbing pains

Im pretty sure its a combination between having a "large" partner, sensitive skin and hormone related. I get this sometimes after sex and hav found that as long as I'm well lubricated it doesnt happen. I am also taking the mini-pill which is progesterone only so no oestrogen there to toughen the skin up. However, it mayb lichen sclerosus and I urge anyone with the symptoms to get checked out.

These stories are a huge relief to read! I've suffered from cut-like irritations on and off for a few years now and wondered why and if anyone else does too!
The low immune discussion makes so much sense because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and a couple of minor blood disorders. I take several different medications for these each day. At the moment that whole 'area' is sore red, sore, itchy and tender and geez does it sting!!
I have been married for 10+ years, both of us a faithful as the Pope is to his Church, so no STI concerns for me. I have put Vaseline, Salve and or Bepanthen on this over the years but it seems none of these are doing the trick at the moment. When I use my bowels it's like being in labour again!!!
I only recently read something on FB about Hydrogen Peroxide and all the things you can use it for so it's interesting to read it here several times. I'll definitely be giving it a try. So thanks for all your valuable contributions, hopefully these uncomfortable, unsightly and often embarrassing irritations cease to be ongoing problems for us all.

OH MY GOD finally someone who has the exact same symptoms as me.. I have herpes too, and I've had these "cuts" between my vagina and anus every time my husband and I have sex! We went celibate for a month to make sure that I was completely healed up and I had NO herpes breakouts and literally as soon as his penis entered me, BOOM, rips. I don't understand! But now I know it might not be my herpes?!?! I'm calling the doc on Monday!

Hi, I too, suffer from these symptoms. I believe it to be caused by straining "too" hard when having bowel movements with constipation and hard stools. Both vaginal and anal areas suffer from splits and cracks that, occasionally. bleed. Intercourse becomes nearly impossible. I have not found anything to help the situation; taking stool softeners has not helped.

I had a small tear on that area as well. I didn't think much of it. I associated the tear with rough intercourse. About a week after noticing the tear, I ended up in the hospital with viral meningitis. The cause of the meningitis was hsv (herpes simplex virus) usually HSV-2 (genital herpes) is what causes viral meningitis. I was shocked to find out that I have herpes however, it is not the worst possible thing in the world to be diagnosed with. People used to make such a big deal about herpes in the early 1900s
But it's really nothing to be so ashamed of now days, and is very common.

Have you been successful in finding a cure? My dr prescribed premarin for me to apply as a topical cream when this happens. It treats it but it still keeps returning.
