Well I'm reading all of these stories and I am SO GLAD I finally see others online with the same stories. For the longest time no one knew what I was talking about. These inner thigh pains literally take your breath away. They are excruciating and NOTHING in comparison to the little calf cramps. At least you can get rid of those with the right manipulation but these are the Mothers of cramps! Starts as a tightening in the inner thigh an just takes off from there! No manipulating, no walking, sitting, laying will relieve it. This bad boy just brings you to your knees. Once I had one so bad I had a huge bruise on my inner thigh. I have no idea why these happen, no doctors have diagnosed it or have any idea what it really is. They treat the complaint as if it were a normal leg/calf cramp. I do know drinking plenty of water and the use of magnesium is supposed to help along with potassium but I had a terrible health problem with potassium so that should be a dr's call. I just read an article where magnesium taurate was recommended to one victim of these horrid cramps and if worked for her. I think I'll just be more diligent with water, magnesium and get my potassium from bananas. Will keep on this forum to see if there are any other suggestions.

It could be low magnesium or something like beginning Parkinson's. I, too, get theses spasms. One can't return to bed, for fear it will start again. Look up both low magnesium & Parkinson's on the Internet!

Does any doctor seam to know of the inner thigh spasms of Parkinson's disease or low magnesium? Did these doctors attend the wrong classes?

I stopped taking Ibphophen a year ago and my inner thigh muscle spasms went away, after 10 years of taking them and 10 years of severe pain. Tried everthing else, but never thought about stopping the ibuprofen. This is what helped me. It's so great nto being afraid to go to sleep anymore.
