Hi! My son has had shortness of breath for a few days now. We have had a local wild fire and thought it was due to smokey air. Last night noticed his sternum protruding and right side enlarged... Air is clear now and still gasping for air. What could be causing this?
Hi Guest,
If he's truly gasping for air, you need to seek emergency medical attention.
If he's short of breath still, have him see his doctor - ASAP. It could be bronchitis, pneumonia, or some other condition - asthma, pneumothorax???
Do NOT continue to ignore this. The changes to his sternum indicate that something serious is going on.
