The same problem arised for my wife, one month ago. Bloating at night.
Interesting part she suffering at night only.
As a medical practitioner I am coming to a conclusion as below,
1. At night due to irregular sleeping pattern usually new mothers get this problem because enzymes starts to work as day time or in balanced more or less enzyme production combination mainly protein related.
Human are designed to work at days and sleep at night.
2. Reduced bacterial support in stomach due to anti biotics we use causes many favoured bacteria to kill.
3. Irregular feeding pattern. And irregular consuming food pattern. Most of the mothers they breastfeeds at night more when they stop this they may find this problem.

Solutions
1. Sleep early go to bed by 8 pm wakeup early
morning
2. Eat regular pattern but take hard diets when you about to work hard, means take hard meals by 11 am
3. Eat more veggies at night.
4. Feed babies with regular pattern
5. Have more vitamin B
6. Release stressed life by natural life.
7. Don't make your stomach to acidic

Please read into SIBO. IBS is highly understood but doctors are starting to discover a bacterial imbalance where "bad" bacteria are eating your food and causing gas production in the wrong places of your intestinal tract!

Yes I agree. I am temporarily out of my supplements that so obviously keep my digestive system healthy. I woke up in the middle of the night with my stomach 3 inches bigger, feeling as tight and round as a basketball. The only thing that cures it consistently (like I don't have it even a little bit) is when I have the combination of Life 9 probiotic, SuperB, Thyromin and Ningxia Red. If any of those is missing from my daily regimine these horrible digestive troubles come back. But I am so glad to have found something that fixes it!!!!! I hope this gives you all relief and hope!! I am sitting here with a frighteningly bloated belly wanting to kick myself for running out of these things.

IBS, Celiac disease...lots of times what is going on is people actually have parasitic infections and don't know it. Symptoms are stomach bloating, food cravings (mainly for sweets), sometimes anxiety, depression and teeth grinding. Try taking diatomaceous earth and msm (organic sulfur), garlic, turmeric and/or other herbs. PLEASE don't take my word for it, look it up, do some research...YouTube is loaded with videos of people who were able to rid themselves of this issue by using natural products. I'm not saying that is the issue in any one person's case, I'm just saying that parasitic infections sometimes mimic other digestive problems. Here is a little known truth: 85% of the population have some type of parasite. If you eat meat, dairy, sushi, if you walk around in your bare feet outside, if you travel a lot...you most likely have parasites. Gross but true. Look into it, it can't hurt to research.

Bloating started when I was around 18 during a extremely stressful period of my life. Hard to explain the situation but it did a number on my stomach. But after the stress was contained the issue still persisted and will start acting up in the evenings only. Went to gastroenterologist and he put on antibiotics that target the bad bacteria in my stomach/intestine. He said somehow I may have gotten those bad bacteria in my stomach. Guess what after I started the antibiotics it completely went away. But the doctor warned it may come back after 6 months or a year or after many years. And sure does it happen after year or two and then I go on the antibiotics again. But what a relief. Flagyl is what I use now. But the first time the doc gave me another antibiotics, the name I don’t remember. God bless that Doc.

Mine has been mostly at night after initially falling asleep I awaken with a very distended stomach and begin my process of waking appropriately every two hours . I usually pee,walk around a bit while tapping or massaging the stomach. I many times get some gas to pass and then lay down to attempt the process again. I’m waiting on bloodwork results as the last month has been the worse as it’s never been more then a five hour period of sleep but mostly two-three hour increments. It mss as my times comes with mild nausea. I will also drop off stool sample to eliminate the possibility of h-pylori or other bacterial issues or blood in stool unseen to the eye. Hope we find our solutions for happier more comfortable living

Read a news report within the past year or so stating that eating organic apples and (if you don't dislike it too much) sauerkraut can help restore a healthy gut biome, since both foods carry helpful bacteria. Only organic apples though -- pesticides on apples kill the bacteria.
