hello! Can anybody explain the difference between normal and ‘ill’ vaginal secretion. I have been experiencing extra discharge for the last two days. My mom says it is common and that it happens but I am still worried although I am still a virgin and couldn’t have caught std from masturbation or fingering.

Your mom is right. We experience different amounts of discharge throughout menstrual cycle. The most excessive discharge we experience during ovulation. Normal vaginal discharge should have any odor or cause itchiness. It is usually white but can turn to yellow when being exposed to air. This is how you can see it on your panties. Sometimes I have some pink discharge just before my period but my doc told me it is no big deal, so I took her words for granted. Although you can’t get an STD, you can get candida from antibiotics treatment, excessive washing or douching, and candida causes excessive vaginal discharge. Candida is a fungus and can be treated by otc drugs. However, it should be diagnosed by gynecologist first.
