If you continue to use the hairbrush, please, please please wash it before and after you use it-for sanitary reasons. Also, don't force anything inside that feels uncomfortable. When you go to masturbate, do it when and where you feel safe and comfortable. For example, when everyone is in bed for the night, lock your door if you can, and just explore yourself.
If you don't think your family would miss a small cucumber or a banana, wash it and preferably put a condom on it and try that out for size until you can buy your own toy. But if it doesn't sound good to you, don't do it.
For the fingering....Start off with one finger, make a come hither motion (or "come here") with said finger and go from there. Or, also starting with one finger, thrust in/out in a way that makes you feel good. Or just move your finger around inside. As you relax, you could add more fingers, but don't force anything in that is uncomfortable or painful.
Find what feels good to you and do that.
