Hello!

I had a lower facelift and neck lift three weeks ago.  I have numbness in both cheeks both ears, and a portion of my neck.  I am worried because I expected to see some improvement in sensation.  I was told to expect numbness as a possible side effect, but I thought the feeling would slowly come back.  I am concerned because it does not seem to be healing or changing at all.  How long do people wait before starting to massage the area and or seeing a specialist?  I just want to be sure I am being proactive in regaining feeling.  I don't want to wait until it is permanent if there is something I can be doing now.

Hello, again.

Like I said on your other topic, it is important to discuss your concerns with your surgeon, as they can provide advice and guidance on how to manage the numbness. It is also important to keep in mind that numbness can be permanent in some cases.

Usually, numbness after a lower facelift and necklift is normal and typically resolves over time. But if it lasts for several weeks, that could be a reason for concern.
