I'm 22 yr old female having similar problems however they are on my right side. Started out with a numbed feeling in the right leg which moved up to my arm and face. The numbed and tingling feelings come and go a few times a day (mostly effects the hand and arm, pinky side) but ever since this started I have a constant heavy/tired feeling in the right arm and leg (like I have been lifting weights on that side only or something) It doesn't seem like I am losing strength but just feel worn out on that side, i'm worried it will get worse.
Its been about 3 weeks now and not going away. All the tests so far have come back fine.
I haven't had any shots in years so I don't think that would be the cause for me.
I do have a bad problem with acid reflux that has been going on for years so I wonder if that is connected.

Hope everyone finds a solution.

Well. I see I have plenty of company..
I happen to be 46, female, and last week I started with these nasty sympthoms as well.
Mine are:
Starts with tingling on my face; left ear and tongue. My left arm also tingles and it gets sore (like when you bump against something)
for a while. My left leg and foot as well. My feet get cold and before all of this, I am sooooo dizzy (like if I drunk for days), a mild headache
and nausea that shows up eventually. Also I feel exhausted on and off.
I also ended up in the ER and also came up with a clean CT Scan and Electro Cardiogram. I am going to a Neurologist but for what I have seen in this forum, I have the feeling that will be clean as well and the mistery goes on.
I was on Stradiol for a few months (gel) and I wonder if this is a side effect of that but I see lot sof you with the same sympthoms
so I'm starting to wonder. I do not have acid Reflux and I do not think I have a spine issue. I do work with computers every day.
However, my question is, the exhaustion, headache and nausea..can that be cause by nerve damage? It feels more like a virus..Sympthomwise ?
This is so annoying and I can't function normally.
Has anybody come up with clues?
Thank you all and I hope we find it soon. %-)

Hi everybody!
I had the exact same sympthoms. went to the E.R. and all came back normal.
Most the signs were the same. I though I was going to have a heart attack or a stroke.
My Dr. put me on Prozac for 1 week to level a chemical imbalance (prior to the sympthoms)
A week and a hafl after I was off it, I started with the same sympthoms. A friend of mine, the same for the same reason.
Here is a link I hope may help some of you. This applies to serotonin activity :

Go to the section that reads: "Nervous system side effects"
You'll be amazed.
Good luck and feel better :)

I'm a 38 yr old female who started experiencing symptoms 4 wks ago of numbness, tingling, heavy feeling, weakness and cold sensation of left arm. My pinky up to my wrist is always numb. A few days ago my left leg started with similar symptoms. I consulted with a Nurse Practioner and she has given me an order for a Spine X-ray. I will have my X-ray tomorrow morning. I will keep you posted.

I am having similar symptoms and am very frustrated as well. I have seen a neurologist and have had a BAER test, MRI, CT, EKG, etc. They did find that my B12 level was low so I have been taking a sublingual for the last month...still almost no improvment. I know have an electrical tingling in my back...almost always on the left side...as well as alltogether numbness on the left side of my body...face, neck arm seem to be affected mostly. My leg and foot on the left side also tingle though. I also have "spots" of the electrical feeling in my face...usually around my lips. It wouldn't be so bad if it were just the tingling I suppose, but it's starting to be painful and I get vertigo quite regularly as well. I don't know what to do anymore...my PCP has told me he doesn't know what's wrong with me and looks at me like i'm crazy these days. The neuro hasn't called me back...he did say he thinks this is all a result of atypical migraines...no pain in head but neuro symptoms. Only issue with that is, the anti-seizure medicine they put me on to prevent the migraines made all of my symptoms worse...confusion was the largest factor.

Well...thanks for letting me get all of this out. I know it probably won't help many people because I still don't have an answer...

Well I am still having tingling and numbness (like when your foot falls asleep then the sensation you get when the blood starts coming back into circulation) In both my left hand and left foot. I had given up refined sugars, and empty carbs, for lots of greens, vegetables and grilled and broiled fish and poultry. I feel better mind wise and breathing wise, but the damn hand and foot is exactly the same.
A freind and i have also started walking daily about 3-5 miles depending on my foot and the tempeture, i just don't know anymore I guess I am resigning myself to the fact that this is a after affect of the high blood pressure episode I had back in february, I woke up with it and it never left. Lyrica, doses of vitamin D, b6, 12, you name it I have tried it. MRI isn't in the picture as of now because I have no inusrance and can't afford one, Doctor can't seem to figure it out, I wil come bakc periodically to see if anyone with the same symptoms has come up with a solution! Or If I ever find one, trust me you will all be first to know.

Add another one to the list. I am 53, female, active, about 10 pounds overwight, also a cancer patient - on long term chemotherapy. So whenever a new symptom arises, I never know if it is associated with my cancer or something else.

Mine started about 3 weeks ago and about 4 weeks after my first trip to Europe. I came back with a terrible cold that went to bronchitis. About two weeks after that I had the symptoms so well described by others here: left pinky, ring finger and side of hand is numb; dull pain in my left hip shooting down the left leg (also numb); cracking neck and popping ears, now progressed to bouts of vertigo, extreme fatigue, and an increase in acid reflux (which is high as a result of my chemo).

I too seem to think it may be viral or bacterial. A friend at work almost had carpal tunnel surgery when his astute doctor noticed a shiny coating over his nerves that turned out to be a slow growing bacterial (Mycobacterium) infection (which he got from working in his garden and getting soil in a cut) - he had to take antibiotics for a year!

I will look up some of the references on here and let you know if I learn anything new!

I am so shocked and very disturbed at the same time to find that so many people are having this same issue.
Let me start with a few facts.
I am a 39 year old female
I live in Florida
I started having numbness and tingling on my left side about a year and a half ago, progressivly getting worse with time
I travel a lot and have spent time in NY, JA, TX and AR over this period of time.
I have anemia for which I take B12 injections 1cc every month.
I am married, and am not sexually permiscuios(?). My husband is perfectly healthy.
About 6 years ago I had a gastric bypass and have pretty much been able to control weight.
I was previously working in a VERY high stress job 50 or more hours a week for at least 6 years straight.
I found out about 3 years ago that I had fibroids and had a partial hysterectomy witch resulted in a bout of depression
Was placed on several trial antidepressants and finally settled on Wellbutrin and Lexapro but has since weaned myself
off of them for about a year now.
When I started having these symptoms, I went to my primary care dr, who proceded to order a complete blood panel of test
to include hiv/aids, lupus, lime etc. I also was sent to have an MRI of the brain. ALL test came back negative which left me and
my doctor dumbfounded.
Because I have gotten very sensitive to heat and cold, and when I first went to him, I was glad while sitting in the office, my
fingers and toes were a bluish black color, that way I could say to him, "see I'm not making all of this up."
Well, after all of the testing coming back negative, the color in my fingers and toes evident, and because my dr. was completely out of answers, he came up with the only two logical explanations he could think of. He diagnosed me with Raynards, which was his official
ruling for my body's unability to regulate a normal tempature, and two, he pretty much told me that I was obviously having some
mental challenes. He said do to my recent history of depression, the drastic decision to quit my high stress job after a long history of employment (boarderline workaholic) along with the normal life stresses (having a husband in law enforcement and two teen boys) that the symptoms may be what he said is medically classified as a mental breakdown.
This mortified me! I left his office that day with a months supply of abilify samples and feeling like a whipped puppy.
I did not take the abilify. The numbness and tingling in my pinky and ring finger, left side weakness and the same numbness and tingling in my toes is not from "mental challenges".
I have decided to do some research, which is how I found this forum, and schedule an appointment with a neurologist.
I have since fired my primary care doctor and am looking for another one.
I do not know what this is, but I do know that sometimes I feel like the left side of my body does not fit, like it is like stanges dead flesh tagging along on the otherwise normal and healthy right side.
I have thought about every possible cause, even the fact that I started using splenda as a sweetner years ago and wondered if even that has something to do with this.
Good luck to all of us!

well i agree with this last post, i am also mortified that so many people have the exact same issues, and have still not come up with a solution to this whole terrible dilemma. I have had this bad tingling feeling in my left side hand, foot, ear, eye socket, and sometimes left nasal passage for almost a year now.
Certain days like rainy, or cold i feel worse than when the sun is out, but it is always present and the only time I do not feel it is when i pass out for a couple hours of fitful sleep. I dont do much of that any more either. I just hoped I could find a solution or an answer or a direction to go in to somehow cure this feeling in my left side it is excruciating and brings on major depression and all sorts of horrible things.
I have been to doctors, going to more doctors and its always the same, non conclusive.... HELP ME DEAR LORD! HELP US ALL!

these below being the symptoms of epstein barr, I highly doubt this is what it wrong with my tingly, numb sensations.

A sore throat that lasts two weeks or more

Swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpits, and groin

A persistent fever (usually about 102 degrees F)

Fatigue

Malaise (a vague feeling of discomfort)

I have none of this and I do not have Lymes desease either..

Hello and hopefully good news for some of you. I have had tingling in my arms so severe they both drew up with my fingers and hands turned in. Seems it was lack of adequate Potassium. It is currently starting to come back. I don't eat a well-balanced diet, since I live alone. So, thought I'd look it up more info. again and found this thread.

Threw a potato in the microwave...expecting to feel better soon. BTW, leave skin on.

Curious if this was helpful for you. I tend to expect my condition is a serious one when it comes to medical issues. I hope yours is this simple and easily addressed.

I have eaten a slew of potatoes and avocados, and bannanas I wish the solution was that easy. I take 400 mg of gabapentin at night so i can sleep undisturbed through the night, but even sometimes that doesnt work. Its something that I unfortunetly have learned to live with, it isn't pleasant, but with my bllod pressure so high as it was, I guess if this is the only symptom i gained it is better than having an all out stroke. But thanks for the suggestion!

(35 year, male)To start I have suffered from migraines off and on for about 10 years now and about a year ½ ago I had a dull head ache that lasted about a month and during that time I started getting numbness on the left side of my body. It is focused mostly in the left side of my face and my left arm but at time it does go down my leg and the left side of my torso. Got scared and called the doctor, they sent me to the emergency room for a ct scan...perfectly fine. Then I was sent to a neurologist and had 2 MRI's done on my head and my neck. All clear...no tumor, no MS, no neck issue and they have no clue about what is causing it. Neurologist did say he is seeing more and more of unexplained numbness and that I should come back in a year or so. I haven't gone back yet. I do avg about 1 migraine every 2 months and take Teximet for it, which really does help. Also taking Lexapro. If anyone has the same symptoms and has found some solutions please let me know.
