recent chest x-ray results says "findings consistent with old granulomatous disease" AND "no radiographic evidence of disease". can only find explanations of "Chronic granulomatous disease" on the internet and I am a perfectly healthy 48 year old woman. also, PPD for tuberculosis result was positive. is there a connection?

Hello there Ani,

Probably there is no connection, but the radiologist wanted to wrote down everything that he has saw on the X-ray. As for the tuberculosis, if you have it, you need to treat it. I presume that your doctor has already suggested you treatment for tuberculosis. It will include 4 to 6 different kinds of antibiotics, and unfortunately this treatment will take some time. Even 9 months in some cases!

So, prepare yourself for this. You will need to be patient, and in the future you will need to take care of yourself a little bit more. In case that you have been coughing blood than your disease has advanced. I hope that you will resolve your problem fast.
