Opiate Withdrawals & Home Remedy (garbage!).

I hurt my back 8 years or so ago. I had a discectomy or something over 4 years ago that worked wonders for a few months. During all that time I was on oxymorphone 3 a day 100 mcg fentanyl and 4 oxycodone 30. I am a father, now grandfather. When pain management put me on all this it helped. But I had no idea it was so addictive. It started doing less and less and I had met people doing them, well snorting and iving them. I guess I was already hooked when I started snorting them. Snorting opana was my less painful way of life for a long time. When they gelled them, a lot of people I know started iving the c**p out of them. I wouldn't but they came back again and I thought I was saved until my clinic went out of business and I went to another. I got much less starting somewhere new I guess. I am now a week out and out of meds. I feel so ashamed of myself for being in this situation, sick as hell. I ran out Friday and I guess I'm at my crossroad. Oh and work comp. Has been pissing me around for years now. I don't want this way of life, I don't want to be in miserable pain either. I don't even know why I'm typing this now.

Because you are sick like the rest of us! All you can do is take one day at a time. I to am sick of being sick, that's why I'm choosing to get off of them completely. It is a struggle every single day.!

Confused, if I were you I would go to a methadone clinic and do a detox or if you can't stay off of opiates, start methadone maintenance. I've been on it 31 years now, I'm 54, and it saved my life. Don't believe all this garbage about methadone being bad. If you want to get straightened out and comfortable, check it out, please. Also you can check out suboxone but its ridiculously expensive, meaning 200-400 a month depending on insurance if you have it. Methadone is about 35-65/week here in Texas. Several people have recommended methadone throughout this thread. I hate methadone, but, after ten+ years of being on 150 mgs daily, I finally titrated to zero. It isn't for everyone, but it damn sure will ease the cravings, and eliminate the withdrawals. Again, I don't recommend it, but sometimes it truly is the best option to get from A to Z. I've tried it 3 times (I think), and without success the first 2. Like they say, maybe the third time was the charm. But, at 52, my body is starting to suffer, like many of us. Also, like many of us, there will be those who have no choice but to be on life-long opiate maintenance, and methadone is certainly better than some of the alternatives I've seen others use. Lastly, I have a 6-year-old boy -- I'm trying to be a good father for him, so there's more huge motivation.

I was on methadone for ten years I'm a 45year old woman I was on 160 yes way to much..I got down to 50 and not from choice had to jump off went thru most of my whithdrawerels on a 24 hour bus ride home....I would not suggest it...on and off different opiates since then recently poppy seed tea I am getting off that with kratom it works I would not ever suggest methadone it took ten years of my life I will never get back and the clinic is worse than dealers...my two cents
