I've just had ODS on both eyes and am entering week three of recovery on the Right eye, which is progressing fine, and week two of recovery on the Left eye, which isn't doing as well.

I need to know if anybody out there has any history with this operation and recovery issues that might arise? I seem to have developed a small squint in the Left eye and each morning when I wake up, before I clean the eyes, the surrounding areas is a yellow colour for an hour or so.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this? The swelling is going down and everything else seems fine but I don't want to be stuck with a squint if there is something I can do to prevent it during the healing phase.

Why did you have orbital decompression surgery anyway? Most common reason is overactive thyroid and I presume this is the reason. Also I presume that you have talked with your surgeons about everything before undergo the surgery itself and that he told you the way your recovery will go and what the possible side effects are. The only thing you can do to be sure that nothing is wrong and that you’re left eye will recover in the same way as the right one is to talk to your surgeon. Call him and make appointment. Describe what you are experiencing and how does it look like. Hopefully he will be able to tell you that everything is fine.

Let us know about the results and how are you now. Good luck.
