Hi:
I am a 65 year old active woman. However, I have lived with bunions as well as hammer toes for several years. Most recently, however, I am in terrible pain.on the toes as well as on top of one foot. The doctor I went to see said that I would have to have fusion with the surgery. In addition, there may be arthritis.
If any one, who has had serious bunion surgery, could recommend a orthopedic surgeon, I would appreciate it. I live in New York City and have GHI/Emblem Health Insurance.
I have met with two doctors, which I was not that happy with, both of which, I was not that happy with.
Your help would be appreciated.

Have you considered seeing a podiatrist? I suggest this because podiatrists deal specifically with the foot and perform bunionectomies/hammertoe repairs regularly. I wish you the best and hope you have the best results with surgery.
