I had a bartholin cyst which truned into an abscess and had the abscess drained and a word catheter inserted. The word catheter stayed in for the full 4 weeks and I had it removed yesterday. While I had the word catherter in, I tried my hardest to not have sex with my boyriend but had sex twice a couple days before my appointment to have the catheter removed (I couldn't wait three more days after waiting nearly a month for some reason). Anyway, the sex was a bit painful but not so terrible that I had to/wanted to stop.
After I had the catheter removed yesterday, my boyfriend and I had sex and again, it hurt a bit but not so bad that I wanted to stop. Certain positions hurt more than others. Is this normal? I also feel like it's still swollen where the abscess was and I'm afraid that the cyst is growing back or could this just be swelling from the healing process? The doctor told me that everything looked good and healthy when she removed the catheter so maybe I'm just being paranoid. I just don't want to go through this again, it was terrible.
