Thanks everyone, this happens to me when I go without food and I drink energy drinks. This information however is useless to this guy lol.

The doctor suspected my parotid duct was blocked by calcium buildup (like gallbladder stones). I was put under a local anesthetic and he enlarged the opening of my parotid duct just under the tongue, he thought whatever as causing the swelling was working its way close to the opening. Sure enough, he could see a small "stone" but could not take it out, it was still too far in. He closed up the incision but left he the opening a little larger to allow the "stone" to pass. A week later, I had a nagging pain under my tongue and the stone came out! It looked like a grain of grit (the breakfast food).
Since then, the pain in my jaw when drinking beer is a lot less and usually passes after the first glass. It's quite bearable now and just something I've learned to deal with. You'd think someone would've done a study on this by now with the number of people affected.

All, I have had the same thing for years. Knowing I enjoy having a couple beers a night and drinks with friends on the weekend. The pain has been daily and a struggle for years. However, after reading numerous posts there is hope. Someone posted that this is a caused by a Magnesium deficiency. I have been taking a Magnesium supplement for 10 days now. The pay is all but gone. I am loving life!!
