For the past 4 days I've had a pain that seems to be behind my shoulder blade or very close to it. Pain increases with deep breaths, cough, yawn, moving my arm a certain way, and at times when it's touched. I'm short of breath. It's really starting to worry me. Im 18 years old. Last year I had costochondritis but I can't remember if they are all the same symptoms, but I do remember it hurt to take deep breaths and certain movements. Well Any ideas of what it can be?

I have had the same pain about 5 yrs, ago. I thought it was a strained muscle and was treating it as such, up to the point of getting accupunture and a new tempurpedic bed. Nothing worked.  I eventually saw a sports med. Dr. and it turned out to be a sprained or cracked rib.  It took some time off  work, and  various visits to his office and he would use a compression tape . It went away and all was fine. Now I'm in pain again with pretty much the same symptoms but can't go to see a Dr. ( $) So I'm treating it at home with cold press and ibuprofen, no work or activities. If you can do so, go to see a sports Med. Dr. Could be you bruised a rib or something. Good Luck
