I have a cyst in the tendon on my big toe in my foot. The podiatrist tried to aspirate it numerous times without success. Now I am scheduled for surgery a month from now but I am in a lot of pain. The doctor performing the surgery says there is no pain associated with this usually and refused to prescribe any pain medication. I walk all day long and my foot is in a lot of pain throughout the day and well into the night. Should the doctor be treating me for this pain or is it normal practice to ignore a patients statement of discomfort? Should I go to my family doctor to get relief for the next month or should I take it as a sign to find another surgeon?
