I stared having constant pain in my pinky, it started only a few days ago. It travels up my hand slightly. It was confusing me as I haven't done anything to injury it, or to strain it. All these answers are really helpful. Anybody else found anything out from doctors, proffessionals etc?

Exact same thing here, started 4 days ago. No injury, no illness, all labs excellent (I know because of a recent well visit).

Hi everyone, I commented about the same thing about 9 months back. I have since had a operation on said little finger as the pain after a year was getting worse not better. The surgeon removed a cyst in the knuckle joint which appeared to be causing the pain on bending. Since the opp I no longer have pain. I am still working on being able to fully bend the finger again, but this will take time after 12 months of trying not to move it! I really don't care if I don't get full motion again, at the pain is gone! I had loads of tests that showed nothing in particular was wrong - CAT Scan, MRI and ultrasound - each showed a 'shadow' in the affected area but inconclusive. The thing that did show the problem best was an x-ray on the 360 degree dental x-ray machine. This was awkward, but did the trick - my surgeon could see much more clearly and decided to operate. The cyst was benign as 90% are apparently. What they like to call 'a benign nuisance'. According to my Doctor it shouldn't be painful -Yeah right!! Might be worth you guys checking out this option. The relief having no more pain is unbelievable - it was affecting every area of my life. It may only be a little finger, but until it hurts you don't realise just how much you need it!

Same pain here feels like im squeezing a marble too tight under my pinky knuckle area. Very wierd concentrated pain. On my left hand only. This has got to be something that all of us are being affected by smh

I take metropolol (generic for Toprol) for about 15yrs. No problem til just resent. I have carpel tunnel and something called Raynaud’s phenomenon. It happens when its winter mainly for me. All the blood will feel like its drained out of my fingers. They turn almost white and it stings. But this pinky issue is new for about 3wks now maybe. It's painful & swollen when I wake up and it doesn't bend the same as the other fingers. It almost feels like a pop in the lower knuckle near the hand. After about a 1/2 hr or so it feels more like normal. But I don't think (from my experience anyway) that it's caused by the medicine.

Did it hurt all the time or was it just in the AM? Because mine goes away after about 30-45 mins maybe and only stays a bit tender for the rest of the day

Hi, I recently turned 41. I never had any pain in my hand until now. My left hand pinky finger top joint. Felt like it was hit with a baseball bat. However, it wasn't! I like to drink beer. I noticed that when I drink heavily. That's when the pain occurs. I think that it is from dehydration? I'm not a doctor. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night!! Good luck on your findings! I have the same problem, I am relatively new to golf and started going back to the driving range 3 times a week, I've notice my right upper arm/shoulder can be painful when lifted and moved backwards and also my little finger nuckle seems swollen and is sore, didn't relate the two until reading your message..... how are you now?

No, I am on no medication. I was told the cyst/tumour they found in my finger joint (that caused the pain) can happen at any time to any body. There was no real known cause for it. Since they operated the pain has completely gone. I have a finger that won't bend the same as it did, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore.

Hi I play golf and this has happened to me as well. Back story aside I found that stretching my little finger up and slowly bending down while still strecthing has helped, i do it kind of as an exercise. However I do only say this helps because it doesn't remove it permanently

My issue is with golf as well. No shoulder issue. My pain is in my pinky knuckle on right rand where I interlock my grip. Not sure if golf is causing the issue or not. I know golf makes it worse, but not sure if it was the cause. Not debilitating pain, just annoying.
