I just experienced the same symptoms yesterday and this morning and I too am a pianist. I don't recall injuring the finger but I could not bend at the first joint of my left pinky finger because of severe pain. It lasted a day or so and then completely disappeared in the middle of a gym workout this morning..... Robert

I’m here looking for answers too before I suck it up and go to the doctor. I noticed a dull pain in my left pinky joint a few days ago but thought nothing of it. It’s about two days later now and it’s excruciating. I can’t bend it OR straighten it. It’s just stuck there limp. The knuckle is slightly swollen but the rest of the joints on that and all other fingers are fine. Absolutely no pain anywhere else but it is so bad that it kind of radiates all up my hand even where there is no pain when my hand is laying still. No excessive strain or injury whatsoever. Glad I’m not left handed or I’d be useless. Send help.

Playing piano tonight, my right forefinger began hurting and I can't bend the last knuckle. I separated a tendon from my left thumb, while checking my son's bicycle, last week. If I wasn't in so much pain, I'd be freaked out by the coincidence. I'm scared right now and deciding if I'll need to go to the hospital or I can wait for an office visit. What was your outcome of this?

Absolutely, I am a climber with a very tight right shoulder, add in the mix getting dumped in surf on my neck and now I cant shake hands, climb properly, even wiping my ass hurts, all because of my pinky. I have spent a bit on chiro and acupuncture to help my neck , which was very effective but the pinky just gets worse. I already have dputryens syndrome in my hands so unfortunately things are a bit grim.

hey my left little finger was giving me trouble recently with inexplicable tenderness and when you mentioned frozen shoulder i was like OMG THAT MUST BE IT - i have frozen shoulder on the left side and I have never gotten it to go 100% - it's much better than it used to be but I guess I need to do more stretching. I will do more to try and unlock my frozen shoulder.
