I'm a 46 yr old woman. Healthy, but under a lot of stress. I don't smoke or drink. Recently I've been gaining weight without any reasonable explanation. I also have pain in the soles of my feet and have swollen feet; I'm also lacking my usual energy. I excercise daily and eat relatively healthy foods. I have been on 20mg of Paxil for the last 5 yrs. I'm wondering what this symptoms could mean. Any clue?
I'm on line trying to figure out if quitting Lexipro cold turkey while on a 20mg/day dose could have caused similar symptoms. Wt. gain, foot pain & swelling, & fatigue. I'm a 36 yr old woman.
Hi,
Interesting, I am 47, on 20 mg of Celexa, have gained weight, and also have been online looking for an explanation to my painful feet!

I am a 47 year old woman who drinks in moderation and does not smoke at all. I excercise and have a healthy diet.
I too have problems with swollen feet and the soles of my feet hurt so bad some mornings that I can hardly stand on them. Some of the pain goes away after I have been up for a while.
I used Lexapro for a few months a couple of years ago. I gained a lot of weight while on it so I got off of it. About that time is when I also started experiencing the issues with my feet... the pain and the edema. I have also worked hard to lose the weight and have not been terribly successful since the period of time I took Lexapro.
Any thoughts from anyone in the medical field?
Thanks.

Uh-oh.
I'm a 45 year old woman who has been taking Lexapro for anxiety for about a year. The last couple months I've not been great about remembering my pills, either.
I have had unexplained swelling in my feet and lower legs for a few months now and the doctor can find no good reason for it. It has been occurring to me over the last couple of weeks that maybe, just maybe the Lexapro had something to do with this. The more I read online the more I see people using Lexapro whose doctors can't find any reasonable explanation for their swelling... :-(
Add me to the list of people who thinks Lexapro is at the root of my swelling problem.

A male, who is 52 years old, started to develop swollen, hard foot then it gradually started to drink also.
What is the possible cause of his problem?
