I recently had a positive test result for chlamydia and have been taking oral antibiotics since then. I also received a shot of antibiotics at the hospital when I was tested as a precaution in case it was herpes (it was not).
I started my period four days ago and on the second day I noticed my vagina was sore (more so than usual for my cycle) but figured it was nothing to worry about. The pain steadily increased to the point that I was doubled over and crying so hard I couldn't see. It seriously felt like I was being punched in the vagina.
At first I only had mild irritation when using the bathroom but after a few times i noticed a burning sensation and pain around my anus when i wiped. I had just shaved the day before I started my period so I figured maybe I had some irritation from the razor or had cut myself slightly. The burning and pain seemed to get worse every time I used the bathroom and finally I decoded to take a look at my vagina. That's when I got scared.
There were several white bumps on my outer labia and in the crease of my skin. They were very itchy and sensitive to the touch and when I pulled at them a sort of sticky substance came out of them. I got in the shower to get cleaned up and very painfully removed as much of the white goop as I could.
The next day everything seemed better for a few hours until the itching came on full force. I tried to ignore it as much as possible knowing how much worse it would be if I scratched myself and tore open a bump but I was back to being doubled over and crying. When I went to the bathroom it was excruciating. I looked at myself and there were more bumps than before and a white filmy substance around them. There were even bumps near my anus. They were small in size, maybe about half a pea and soft and squishy.
I decided to try soaking in the tub to loosen them up to make them easier to clean but as soon as I spread my legs to look, I knew I had made a huge mistake. I got out of the tub and dried off immediately, taking care not to irritate the bumps.
Since the bath my vagina has not stopped hurting. It feels as though it is literally on fire. My vagina is swollen and reddish (not due to my period) and the lymph nodes in my groin are swollen on both sides. I don't have a fever but have been more tired than usual and have had body aches for days.
Please, if anyone has some insight it would be greatly appreciated for you to share.
Some side notes: I am a diabetic on insulin shots. I use pads not tampons. I have had both protected and unprotected sex in the past month, the last time before this happened being protected. Reminder, I did not have a positive result for herpes.
