My name is William, and i am 18 years of age. For the past couple of weeks, I would wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes twice, with an erection, that hurts (4-6 point scale). I'm forced to read or watch videos to take my mind off of this painful situation in order to stop the constant blood flow. I do not know what is causing these episodes and am calling for help.
Hi William,
I'm not clear from your description if the pain is caused by something, such as a tight foreskin or frenulum, or from the erection itself. Where is the pain exactly.
Are you on any medication?
Do you feel pain while masturbating?
When I wake up it is the erection itself that aches. My entire penis feels like it's on fire
OK.
Painful erections can/do occur but it usually happens much later in life.
You will need an examination/checkup by a urologist. Some of the things they'll check include whether or not the chambers, corpus cavernosum and corpus spongiosum, in your penis are working properly. Sometimes, a blockage can put pressure on the urethra during erection and cause pain.
They'll measure the blood flow using ultrasound.
Good luck. Hope it helps.
