Alcohol and Sugar are toxic to the body. Most people who this happens to have a Methyalation issue with thier DNA that they are not aware of. meanwhile, DHA and foods high in DHA will alliviate most symptoms. You might notice, like me, it doesn't happen everytime but most times you drink alcohol. After a while, I began to notice when it didn't happen - I ate something high in DHA. Cod Liver Oil (lemon Flavor) is high in DHA and now I take a tspn every day. If you doubt me, wake up in the middle of the night (for me it was 2:30- 3:00) with your numbness, then take the tspn of Cod Liver Oil. You'll notice it will be gone within the hour. And then for the future, take it at some point during the day. If this is happening with prezels or carby things get tested for the Celiacs panel. It doesn't have to be celiac, but you may have the antibody that attacks gluten when you eat it causing it to attack you soft tissue (mylensheathing of your nerves) Either way, DHA will help attack the free radicals that are damaging and attacking your nerves.

This happens to me too! I wake feeling tingly and spasms occur with my lips and eyes. Sometimes I feel it's actually noticeable as in I cannot control my facial expressions like I should. I feel it in my arms currently too. I went to a wedding yesterday and had several glasses of wine over many hours with water in between as well. I wasn't feeling drunk at all and went to bed at a very reasonable time. But I still woke up tingling. This also happens if I cry too much.

You may want look into Histamine Intolerance. Lots of foods have histamine but wine and alcohol are the highest.
I was only recently diagnosed with it. I gave up alcohol and Dairy 3 years ago not realizing it was the histamine I just knew I didn't feel well after consuming it. Then almost all foods started to cause this and I went to my allergist and she said I prob have it and put me on a low histamine diet. The diet really sucks but I am feeling better since I've eliminated high histamine foods

I have never been a heavy drinker. I really only drink on special occasions and can literally count on one hand the number of times I've had more than one drink. I had half a beer with my husband after the kids went to bed the other night because he asked me to and immediately my face from my forehead to my chin went tingly numb. I told my husband about it and he said I was weird, so I was thinking about it and it happens to me every single time I drink no matter the type of alcohol. Sometimes it's painful, most of the time it's just annoying. Im so glad I'm not the only one who experiences this, but I wish someone had an answer for what it is...I'll probably just not drink again.

I have this exact same issue, and its from my first drink. Afterwords im fine after the 15-30 min period. Id love to find more information or hear what can be done to help. I feel it has to do with a lack of oxygen circulation during the attack.

I see this was a year ago. I have the exact same symptoms with alcohol and coffee. You found a diagnosis ? Or something to help yet ? Or has it just gone away

Maybe you should lay off the alcohol for a while? Numbness in limbs is indicative of slow perfiusion due to slow uptake of slow blood refill.

I actually had this happen to me tonight. I don't drink often but had a margarita. About an hour later, my entire mouth and tongue were numb. My teeth hurt terribly so I figured I was also grinding the hell out of my teeth and not realizing it. My mouth was so numb, I could have bitten the end of my tongue off and not known. I thought hmmm. Allergic reaction maybe? It definitely has been 2 years or more since I had tequila so ya never know. I took 2 Benadryl, and the numbness was completely gone in maybe 30 minutes. I do have a connective tissue disorder that I take medication for-- not a narcotic. It is called Plaquenil. So maybe it caused a reaction. However, I have been on this medicine for 6 years.

The answer you are all looking for is ALCOHOLIC NEUROPATHY. Heavy drinking leads to peripheral nerve damage. Supplementing (B complex, folic acid, E) helps this go away quicker, but ultimately stopping drinking, especially hard alcohol, is the only way to make it stop completely. If you choose to drink anyway, I would supplement before and after drinking (B complex has to be taken w/food fyi), and take breaks between drinking if you can, maybe drink 1-2x/wk instead. And whenever you do have these symptoms take mental notes for yourself; is it hard alcohol that brings it on? Heavy drinking in general? I haven't had these issues since I stopped drinking regularly. I drink maybe a few times a year now and never have numbness, it only happened when I was a regular drinker. Hope this helps you all!

Please both go to your doctor, my husband had same symptoms and a scan revealed a brain tumour. Hopefully not what you have but best to rule it out

Sux that way I don't like getting drunk so I just stoped drinking all together

Thanx for your time
