I have been on birth control for 2 years now and I recently switched brands. This month, i got my period while still taking the pills. I've had my period for 12 days now but I have not stopped taking birth control. Right now (and for the last week) my period has been very light, mostly brown discharge but sometimes red. I'm thinking that my new birth control has a lower estrogen content which could explain the lingering period; but how do I get it to stop? This is really annoying.
hi. i think it might be due to switching pills. i just started my new pack, and have been on my period for 11 days, with brown discharge. i suggest contacting your doctor due to your body might not be accepting this new pill or it is trying to adjust, and it may take up to three months for your body to regulate.
