This post caught my eye and I read through some of the responses. I have dealt with this my whole life. And so have several other members of my family I can tell you that race, weight and sex are not a factor. It is just something that happens. For the really painful boils, the best thing to do is cover with a bandaid until the banaid comes off on its own. Most of the time it will let out the infection while it is covered. In the summer months use some kind of talc powder on your inner thighs. This while help. And as far as hs goes, I have also had that under both arms. That is only a severely infected boil. And it will affect a large area. And trust me, you will know something is wrong. Hope this helps.

Yeah i also have this problem on my inner thighs, i am 16 and ive had it for as long as i can remember. I havent really tried anything for it and im not really sure if i should start. I guess you could say i am self consious about it. Its cool to know all you guys and girls alike have this problem and i am not alone. For along time i thought it was just me. It cant be an STD seeing as i am still a virgin. Because of this problem i dont really plan on having sex, lol i guess im just gonna be like the 40 yr old virgin. I really dont care though. Sex or No sex i just try and live life with a positive attitude. I read some things that said depression can cause it, but i dont think thats it because i dont suffer from much depression. (Only sometimes) but who cares. I just try not to care about it, idk if thats good or bad thing but it seems its not just going to go away on its own lol. Im going to try and start losing weight, although i am not that overweight, i am very tall 6,1 and i weight about 230 ish, i know that jogging can help drop pounds quick. If you are looking to lose weight like me, just start jogging. Humans have been doing it since evolution put us here, and your body will adapt to it quick. Good luck ;-)

its funny - the same as everyone here I have been suffering with these boils, blackheads, etc on my inner thighs since I was a teen. I, too, am overweight and have noticed that they diminish when I lose weight. Regardless, I'm posting bc no one should feel insecure when dealing with a man during intimate moments. IT DOES NOT MATTER!!! They really don't notice our flaws during those moments, trust me. I met my husband at 20 and became intimate WITH these horrible scars, boils, etc. And you know what? He still married me 8 yrs later. Know why? Because he doesn't care as long as I am ok. I know you're not suppose to pop them and do everything in my power not to - but there have been times when the pain is so unbearable that even my husband has helped soothe, pop, compress, and clean them. Again, know why? because he doesn't care. :) So for all those ladies who are scared to become intimate because of them - don't be. Don't sell yourself short because of that - there are much bigger things in this world to be in fear of. Besides; love will override any of that. I still haven't found a cure and will try all the things that have been mentioned. But meanwhile I will continue to battle this painful nuisance with my husband and without allowing it to affect my sex life.

I'm 16 years old and I have this problem too. I never went to the doctor for it because i assumed it was just because I am overweight. I weigh around 210 pounds and for my age, it really irritates me.

This kind of problem does lower my self-esteem especially since I'm not abstinent, so the first time I was going to do something sexual, i got really scared and thought that the guy would be disgusted and not want to do anything. But so far, I have performed sexual activities with 3 guys (All around 16-17 years old) and they have not complained or backed out. So ladies be confident. If your man does back out because of what he sees on your thighs, then he is not worth it! He should accept you for who you are.

Hello! I'm 32, & had the same situation for almost 2 decades. It is actually a hereditary condition that requires a dermatologist to treat! It takes a bit to start working but in the long run its very successful! Your specialist will put you on an oral med - similar to those used for acne & skin irritation, as well as prescribe you an ointment to use on your infected areas whenever you have *stuff* going on. This condition usually hits your upper thigh/bikini area and your arm pits, however, if left untreated, you can start to see these things pop up in various other places, like under / on your breast, belly, bottom, etc. You do not have this condition from being large, or sugar levels, or hygiene. These are escalators only! Of course diet, exercise & extra attention to your hygiene will help minimize this, it is still a condition that requires medical attention & treatment. Meds can be a bit pricey but it is well worth the confidence & self-esteem you regain with successful treatment!! Best wishes to you all!

Lady's I was searching the web for hints to the previously described symptoms and issues and came across this sight. I have not read all the posts but I want to let you know that you all are not alone. As an overweight male, I get them two. It started about 11 years ago when I changed to a job that required me to wear jeans year-round. I would get one or two large bumps that would be tender to the touch every few months. Over the years the frequency increased as did my weight. Over the last few years, I've noticed I almost constantly have them. Some are just small blackheads, others swell up to large whiteheads. Of course my line of work involves a lot of walking back and forth and my thigh rub; which leads to a lot of discomfort when walking. I, like many of you, am too embarrassed to go to a doctor or even talk to any one about it (unless anonymous).

Hi trix,

So sorry to hear you are having this distressing problem. I have experienced something similar although not as bad as yours sounds. I use an antiseptic spray which contains chlorhexidine eg Savlon wound wash spray: http://www.savlon.co.uk/products/antiseptic_woundwash.html It helps both with the infected 'spots' and with the soreness. The other thing have found helpful is to wear cotton shorts/legging under my trousers to stop the fabric rubbing agains my legs. This may provide short term relief buyt it is important to see your doctor to find out what is behind it. Good luck.

I have the same thing. Ladies this come from when our thighs rub together and all that dirt and sweat begin to just sit there, its like bacteria and acne just on your thighs. I have gotten some shark oil from the beauty supply store and those scars go away.

I have the exact same problem, i have tried rubbing alcohol and tea tree oil spray, they did actually help for a while but they will never go away. I did the 17 day diet last summer and i didn't get a single boil during the summer, until i gained some weight back in the fall, during the summer it did clear up but never went away. I'm thinking of doing the diet again and hopefully i will just have scars instead of the boils, it is a much better feeling. You should try the same, I hope you feel better soon, we are all in this together ladies :) b

I also have had them for 15 years.  I had gastic bypass a 10 years ago and I never "lost" my thighs:)   I do keep a close eye on them as they are worse in the summer, we have a family history of cancer in that area, and I want to be ahead of the game if they are worse.   My husband and I have been married for 8 years, we have 2 boys.   He is used to them and knows they are painful to me.   He understands that they are not anything bad yet but we both watch them.....usually they are on one side more than the other and if I drain them (when they still are white head size) and wear nylons or tight shorts under my pants then they are easier to control than let them get big (nickel to quarter size).  Please know that shaving and chlorine irritates them so I make sure to wash well after swimming and shaving and also to shave only as needed and no more.  Hope everyone keeps a good eye on everypart of your body....you are your first defense to all illness!!!!

Hi All,

I've had the same issue for a while and while alcohol with help dry out and disinfect the area, it won't completely make it go away and in time will dry out your skin, causing another issue.  ** definitely consult your doctor, but, what has worked for me, and it's a work in progress, is a combination of body washes with Salicylic Acid (about 2% - can't do more than that - consult doctor for other), lotions with salicylic acid, keeping the area clean and dry (baby powder helps), but most importanly - BEING CONSISTENT and keeping your ROUTINE!!! It's not going to happen on it's own - YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK TO SEE RESULTS!  I hate it just as much as I'm sure you all do, so best wishes on speedy recoveries and hopefully we can all say goodbye and good riddens! :)

Hi.

Its HS and the only way to control it is by going to your doctor and asking for a combination of Ranitidine and Clindamycin antibiotics.  You should also use Tend Skin on the area - alot of it is clogged hair follicles and inflammation of the sweat glands.  Please try out this tried and tested formula.  I am a living example.  I thank God above and pray that this message gets to everyone.  Please try it.  Also get tested for Crohns and Coeliac disease.  Drink Movicol an osmotic laxative  to clear out your gut every day and exercise.

Please try.  It works.
