I've had this since I was around 10, I started puberty early (periods etc) I've been treated with anti-biotics a few times throughout the years, each dr just gave me antibiotics, I assume some of them thought it was a staph infection but it never worked or it came back. I went to a dermatologist and he gave me accutaine that did stop the boils from coming but black heads were there and I had massive side effects to it and mood swings. I saw a doctors a couple of years into uni when I went to get a pap smear and he said it looked like I had a staph infection but never gave me anything for it, which now I think about it is weird. Four years ago I went to a doctor and he said to use anti-bacterial soap to keep it under control and betadine when it is really bad. This has really helped me maintain it and also I started exfoliating which really helps with the blackheads. I never been diagnosed with anything but after reading around the interwebs I'm 100% sure I have Hidradenitis suppurativa. I hope that helps :)

Oil cleansing is good. Olive oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil... Just massage into skin and after 10 mins, use HOT wet towel to slowly dry off.

Hi everyone .stop the antibiotic !!! Doesn't work.your body retains more bacteria than others!! Plus your needing a blood purifier!! Please I know after 30 years of small operations and tetracycline!! Plus when you take antibiotics you get rid of bad and good bacteria so you must replace the good. ( use topical antibiotic/ antibacterial soap/ take acidophills/ all bought anywhere! Plus a natural blood purifier! ( Walmart health section) use apple cider vinegar to wash or put in tub.maybe half a cup! Also your colors of underwear have dyes in them you sweat and the elastic.rubs against your skin.many should use (white underwear) cotton! And yes there is sexy white underwear.been free of this problem 20. Years now.

I get this as well. The more you mess with it the more you get. I just put some rubbing alcohol on a rag and clean the area. They go away!

I know this is an old post but you are correct. I have H.S and they describe it as a bad form of acne. I have had my glands armpits removed because of it. I too get the cyst and they do not come to a head they have to be lanced frequently in my thy bikini area. It is quiet embarrassing and caused many issues. I'm in my 30s and have been dealing with it since about 21. I was told by my dermatologist that the shot that controls it I am not a candidate because of my lupus. I know the struggle but life goes on and you learn to love yourself flaws and all.

I suffered with all these symptoms Since puberty. I was recently diagnosed with
HIDRADINATIS SUPPORATIVA. A skin condition that causes acne like boils in the groin area, underarms and breast folds. This has nothing to do with race. I'm 100% Mexican. But, very fair skin, green eyes. Blonde hair.

Hello all of you beautiful women! I am 34 years old and suffered through stages of the boils, acne, and blackheads problem since I was a preteen. However, I have been aassage therapist, aromatherapist, and holistic wellness coach for 10 years, now, and my gradual research about the human being has led me to some substantial discoveries. I believe I have some really great advice to offer those who are ready to make some real changes for themselves. And, yes, this does usually affect men and women who are overweight, wherever their skin rubs together, but systemically unhealthy thin people can suffer from it, too.

It has only been since I changed my diet and my cleansing routine that I started to get relief from the issues, both with my weight and sebaceous irritation.

1. Stop consuming anything with processed or concentrated sugar AND dairy (sorry to the cheese fanatics). That means soda, juice, candy, I've cream, especially shredded cheese, cow's milk, and as many pre packaged foods as possible. Turn to local honey and fruit for sweetening and unsweetened almond, coconut, or cashew milk WITHOUT carnageenan in the ingredients. Soy is high in phytoestrogens, which further complicates hormonal issues.

2. As a general rule, don't eat or put anything in OR on (see #3) your body that contains ingredients you can't pronounce. That goes for foods and soaps, lotions, oils, powders, etc.

3. Only consume whole saturated fats, no more vegetable oil or fried foods, sorry. Fry your own food in avocado or coconut oils, but try to eat the oils raw as much as possible, like an oil and vinegar dressing. These oils are also the only ones I will use on mine or my clients' bodies. Grapeseed oil can be good in small amounts, but it contains a high content of phytoestrogens, which can be complicating for women who already have hormal imbalances.

4. Cleanse your bowels! I read some replies that mention this, too, it's great advice! Go gently on yourself, though, if you've never cleansed internally, because it can be a messy and strenuous process if you aren't gradual with it. I highly recommend starting with just large amounts of organic lemon squeezed into purified water, add like and orange, too, for taste, maybe a little honey, turmeric if you're interested in lowering systemic inflammation issues, too. This simple drink will, first, help to cleanse the liver, and then the liver will produce more bile, which will help to cleanse the gallbladder, and then the bowels will begin to follow. This mixture also gets right to the lymphatic system, which is where all of this sebaceous inflammation occurs. The liver and gallbladder are directly emptying into the small intestine, which is directly linked to the lymphatic system.

Some people then move to a lemon and organic olive oil mixture. This can cause some tummy upset and make you poop A LOT, so research this on your own and start very slowly. Also, olive oils tend to be really tainted in the US, so do your research about the oil, too.

5. Topical solutions vary by skin type and body constitution of hormones and systemic happenings. Organic essential oils of tea tree, lavender, peppermint, lemon, grapefruit tend to help with calming and lessening the appearance of inflammation and bacterial infection anywhere on the body. However, some essential oils are phototoxic (make you sunburn easily), so be sure to put them on at night or when you aren't going to be directly exposed to much sunlight for 24 hours. I have not tried zonc oxide powder, but I have some on my cupboard of spa treatment ingredients, so I will try it on my inner thighs and share how that does for keeping my thighs dryer this summer. Also, zinc is well known for boosting the immune response, so it sounds promising. Lemon juice, peroxide, and orange peel all sound like excellent suggestions for drying out the pores on the surface, too, but be careful what you put near your genitals. You don't want to mess with your pH in sensitive areas.

All in all, I've reduced my weight by 50 lbs in addition to calming my boils from early adulthood into just small scars and occasional non-inflammatory blackheads in just a few years. If you commit to caring for yourself this way for even just a month you will notice the toxic difference when you eat or use anything you did before that irritated your lymphatic system, which will give you much needed bodily awareness to keep you healthier in the future.

Most importantly, love yourself through the process. Your negative thoughts are strong enough to produce manefestations of ugliness in your life in all ways, and love and kind thoughts to and about yourself do the just the opposite.

best of luck to you all. I know the struggle is real and you usually feel all alone, but push ahead.

Oh yeah, and smoking... Smoking directly affects your lymphatic system, too, which is linked to your lung tissues through little pores in the lung linings called stomas. So, whatever goes into lungs also goes directly to your lymphatic system. The lymphatic system, other than the fascia, is what connects everything immediately to everything else in the body. Sadly, new research is showing that people who never smoke, but work around fryers and unsaturated oils that get burned and evaporated are at least at as much risk, if not more of lung cancer. So, that goes along with the oils I recommended in my original post.

Also, sorry for the typos, I like autocorrect most of the time!

Wanted to let everyone here know that there's a name for it...especially if you have issues with boils and blackheads. It's called HS...hidredenitis supportiva. I've used Turmeric and a mix of witch hazel/Apple cider vinegar. It's a horrible experience, I know. I've dealt with this since I was a teen. Hope this helps.
