Hi all, I was pregnant when I was diagnosed with GBS. Even though I had no use of my arms or legs I was able to give birth normally to a beautiful and healthy baby boy. I was told that the pregnancy had nothing to do with me getting GBS and I could 100% have another child if I wanted to. They did however advise me against having an epidural (I didn't).

I had GBS when I was 20, I got pregnant with my first child 13months after diagnosis. I was completely paralyzed from my jaw down with it for most of a month. my son was born one day early and perfectly healthy. I have since had two more children in less than 4yrs. Keep note of your body and seek help if needed. My chiropractor and I became good friends because any numbness I felt during pregnancy he was able to fix with an adjustment.

i was diagnosed with GBS while 8 months pregnant. during labor i was not allowed an epi bc they said it could stop my breathing. but after i got treated they told me its usually only a one time thing. but if you were to get a flu shot now it could trigger it again. i was diagnosed with cancer shortly after my son was born and kept getting GBS and after that was treated it never came back.

I was diagnosed with GBS when I was 7 months pregnant with my son. I was numb from the tongue down for 6 weeks. I did not get any treatment as the neurologists said there was not enough information whether it would affect my lil man's health. When I went into labor I was 2 weeks into the recovery stage. The anesthesiologist said that if I received an epidural, it may send me back into active GBS. Needless to say, I did not get an epidural. My son was born at 39 weeks and perfectly healthy at 7lbs 2oz. My GBS symptoms were gone after about 3-4 months in the recovery stage. My only lasting reminder is that my feet are always so hot that I can't sleep with them under the covers. About 9 months after giving birth to my son, I became pregnant with my daughter. I am 40 weeks pregnant today. So far, this has been a very smooth pregnancy. I've had no GBS symptoms and baby girl is healthy as far as we can tell. I am not going to get an epidural this time either as the thought of having GBS again is not worth it. Good luck to all of you and I hope that my story gives you hope that having a baby during and after GBS is possible, at least it was for me.

I think it just all depends on how your body reacts to everything? I got diagnosed with GBS when I was 16 years old, & now I'm 20 years old & just had my first baby girl December 06, 2013 & I did not have any problems with my pregnancy. But I just wanted to say I hope everyone who has this GBS, pray & have faith because that's what got me thru everything I've been through & you'll be fine god gots you & knows everything that's going on in your life & he will be by your side thru it all! Everything happens for a reason & only he knows why! Ill be keeping y'all in my prayers & my heart goes out to all of you, & remember you're not going thru this alone. God Bless & Hope For The Best!

I had GBS exactly 5 years ago and I have been unfortunate because I still have foot drop both feet and weakness in both legs. the numbness only remained in my feet and I cannot move my toes.as a result bone density in my feet is really weak and I easily fracture around that area.I have heard of people who have completely recovered & would be grateful for any help or useful information. I am desperate please help me

I am now 22 and have a 2 year old son and I was diagnosed with gbs when I was 14 years old. Thanking god I had a full recovery after being in the hospital for about 6 months and have lots of physical therapy afterwards. I had to learn to walk and write all over again . I also had a healthy easy birth I didn't have a epidural though.

I just had GBS in August of 2015, and like you it was 2 days after my second child turned 1 year old., The Dr's told me no such thing. We aren't planning on anymore anyhow but at my rehab facility they told me of a woman who like me had a small child at home who went on to have 2 more healthy babies after GBS.

I got GBS in 2011 at age 30. Completely paralyzed and could not even eat. Dr. Says I have recovered.. I feel so lost and alone and don't talk about it because I feel it must be in my head because no one believes me but it's been 5 years and I get fatigued quickly. Not able to exercise like I use too. Can't climb a mountain like I use too. Have gained 50 lbs,and have terrible pain in my legs and feet. I just don't feel the same since this has happened. It is depressing. I think my kids suffer the most because I can't do things with them like I use too. I get sick very easy to. Especially pneumonia.

Hi, i had GBS in 1991 i contracted it from a mmr. vaccine durring my 8th month of pregnancy, sadly to say it took the life of my baby girl Claudia, she was laid to rest on her 1st. Birthday but it was when she was 3weeks old she stopped breathing they said it was sids, she remained in a vegetative state for the rest of her short life, but 3 months after giving birth to her i was diagnosed with gulliam barre syndrome, i was full blown , ventilator, paralyzed from toes to head, hospitalized for 3months.I went against my drs. Advice and got pregnant in 1996, at 5 months along they wanted to terminate my pregnancy, i refused, and shouted at my dr.you're not God , and I put me and my unborn daughter in his hands.well my daughter Cheyenne is now 21 yrs old and she doesn't get any vaccinations, nor will I ever again...
Ps. I still suffer from neuropathy.
