Pregnant and Smoking Marijuana

I am a medical marijuana caregiver I highly recommend anyone who is pregnant not to smoke weed or cigs or even drink wine. Remember every hit you take you are making your blood toxic' meaning you are 'high' Remember Every hit you take you are forcing your baby to get high. This is how crack babies are born it doesn't have to be weed it can be beer cigs and tobacco Or prescription drugs. (mostly the kid with adhd acd and disorders like this) the only proven disorder that has been exempt is ALs, cutting oxygen to the fetus is the exact same thing as cutting oxygen to the brain. Everyone knows what that does. I have family with adhd and i remember seeing there moms drinking and smoking and partying while pregnant. Can this be a factor? thc gets stored in the fat of the human body, the blood, and in the human hair. And can be stored there for years if you where like the youtube smokers. Marijuana might not be harmful to a normal human body but when pregnant some one should take extra precautions. I strongly recommend all these teens that have never had a kid Quit posting pro marijuana post for prgnant women. Your gonna end up doing harm in the long run. You might not notice something today but it's like a plant growing it takes time to notice a difference.

I dont know who you are but must be a kid to be so wuik to judge . marijuana is not chemically made it does not harm the baby it dont make tou silly like alcohol and some other heavy drugs like covaine meth pain pills they give you pain pills during pregnancy that are proven to harm baby they tell you to drink wine to help baby wich is alcohol so if marijuana was so bad they need proof and they have none ive done research on it so dont go sounding silly if you have nk idea i think that for all the bad talk about marijuana

This is my thing that im wondering as well. Long story short o was in a car accident at approximately 26 weeks pregnant breaking my right leg (fibia, tibia and shattering my ankle) when admitted to the hospital they dr5ig tested me . I failed for thc. I live in michigan where it is legal with a medical card which I have for hep c. I smoked my entire pregnancy for my now 5 yr old boy and hes healthy and very smart and reading already. However the hospital said something to me about it and I said yea I have my card and she said cps would be up to talk to me when I had my baby. I was in so much pain I continued to smoke until last week which I was 35 weeks prego when I stopped smoking it. Btw I only would hit a joint maybe a total of 3 or 4 times in a day and that would be enough to help. So im worried it will still be in my babys system. My sis just had her baby last week and cps was there and opened a case on her for it being in her babies system. How long does it take to get out of the babys system?

I am currently a foster parent to a child that was taken away from parents because he tested positive for marijuana at birth. So, I would say stop doing it now.

I quit at 24 weeks when I found out I was pregnant..... I'm still positive and haven't smoked since I'm 36 weeks BTW.... Chances are you still are too!!

Mommyof8 hello so i have five children four which are my births an full custody. Of my husband's. Son which ive raised since he was a infant now he is eight 2 miscarriages. An i am six months pregnant so there it is....mommy of 8 so now. That we got that out the way like i said i am currently. Pregnant i suffer. From severe back pain. Which i was prescribed. Baclofin and tramadol i dont like to use meds during my pregnancy i have smoked marijuana With all my pregnancies as well as breastfed All up untill two years of age never once have i ever been tested to my knowledge During or after untill recently Today actually I went for a follow up and my new doctor Told me i tested positive i said why was i tested doc told me withthat office they test for drugs An that if it continues that i will be kicked off the program So im thinking find a new doc lol or go back were i just came. From i moved so it will b alil drive but i think worth it cause im not stoping id rather use medical. Marijuana. THan prescribed meds all of my children. Are healthy an well tooken care of so anyways i guess some doctors check an some dont bottom line is its what a mother. Feels is best thats how i feel by the way if you think im high now because of my writing im not lol just dont no how to change my phones settings nit good with technology. But when it comes to being a mom im well aware of mothering :))

Get over yourself. Who are you to judge anyone or call someone a fool. Perhaps your mother didn't smoke while pregnant with you but it obviously didn't help if you feel you have the right to speak to people as if they were animals or beneath you. As far as I can tell you are not God or even a doctor for that matter so while it is fine to express your opinion at least attempt to sound educated and keep in mind that another persons feelings are involved. Had they not been concerned they would not have posted on this blog. Responses like yours are what keep people from speaking up. I apologize if this sounds mean but you should think before you speak, write or judge.

Unless you are God who are you to judge and speak to people as if your opinion-and I stress opinion since there is no medical evidence to back you- is fact and anyone who feels otherwise is beneath you. Get over yourself. Being a bully is what keeps people from speaking up and asking questions with honesty.

Not all babies born of pot smoking mothers are 'average joes'. I know plenty of people, who were exposed to marijuana smoke while in the womb, myself included. Maybe a few are 'average' but as you said, "this world is filled with so many of them" (so who's to say it was an effect of the exposure? I know other people born into non smoking families who are much more 'average') some of the people I know (who were exposed) are university graduates, with high paying jobs and all quite intelligent people. Also I have seen many children who have been exposed to marijuana smoke while in utero,who are miles ahead of other children the same age, in regards to mental development and personality. While I do understand what you're saying, and know there can be risks in smoking during pregnancy. (which is remarkable, because according to you, I too am an 'average joe'.) I think you are very misinformed. Do you believe it is safer to take pharmaceuticals every day during pregnancy to ease morning sickness? It is not. I think it is very offensive to say all babies born to mothers who smoke marijuana while pregnant, will be 'average' if not 'retarded'. That is just not true.
