Hello,
I have recently been diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure. I am 30, single and working with a specialist that shares very little information. I am in a smaller center and there are no support groups or anything for me here. For the most part I am interested in how everyone is living with this. I am on hormone replacement therapy and many of my symptoms have subsided, but are there other lifestyle choices, supplements, therapies that helped people? I have an appointment with a naturopath in June that apparently specializes in hormones, but feel I can get better advice by others going through the same thing. I am particularly interested in losing weight - I seem to hold the weight despite strict diet and exercise with a personal trainer. Has anyone else had problems with this? What helped? My specialist is adamant that I need to lose weight, but has only said to 'work harder'. I also find that I feel like garbage while taking the progesterone portion of my hormone replacement therapy - exhausted, irritable, etc. Any tips on feeling better? I'm willing to do anything from cut foods out of my diet to going for acupuncture to sleeping upside down like a bat! I just want to go through my days feeling energized and healthy.
