Thank you for posting and shedding light on Trigeminal Nueralgia. I've suffered through many years from this type of disorder before I could rule out that my teeth are in fact not causing the constant pressure I deal with on a regular basis. Pressure so intense that it causes me to grind my teeth and it keeps my eyeballs unsettled in their sockets forcing me to make weird eye twitches throughout the day. At least for now, I have a better understanding of what is physically going on inside of my head.

Hey, I have had this ever since I was kid. It starts in my eye and works down the side of my nose and into my teeth and jaw but usually only lasts around 30 seconds to a minute. Did you ever figure out what this is? It was just a minor irritation at first but it is really beginning to hurt. I have noticed though that it gets way worse when I get less sleep. For instance, I had an exam this morning and got only around 3 hours of terrible sleep last night and ive had like 20 'episodes' today. If you have found out anything please let me know!

i have been dealing with similiar symptoms. 3 eye doctors not glaucoma. Neurologist had MRI said it is a bulge disc in the back of my neck that gives headaches and affects the eye. I am now on Neurontin 3 times a day 100 MG. Less but not much change. No one can find exactly what is happening inside my head and eyes. I wish I could go back to 2011. When I had nothing and lived a better life with no pain.

I have had a pressure sensation at the bridge of my nose for a long while and sometimes also had a mild pumping sensation just below that. Recently I let go of worrying about it and now it has seriously taken on a mind of its own, happening throughout my face, throat, neck and sometimes my arms, legs and torso. I have also had neck movements etc. that some people describe and pressure/pumping sensations in my spine.

I believe that it is the body attempting to move lymph fluid. The initial location for me (between the centre of the eyes) is at the cribriform plate where cerbro spinal fluid (the fluid your brain and spine is in) drains into the lymphatic system. If you CSF flow becomes retarded then it can lead to a build up of pressure and toxins in the central nervous sysem. This can then lead to certain conditions like CFS/ME (I am lifting this explanation from Dr Raymond Perrin's work on CFS/ME in his excellent book 'The Perrin Technique' - something which is currently on its second trial treating CFS/ME patients on the National Health Service in the UK).

The pressure, then, in your teeth, cheeks and nose are pressure of the muscles and lymph fluid on the bones in your face and on your sinuses (there are sinus cavities in your cheeks above your teeth). Some people may have noticed that they got post-nasal drip as this is happening: again, this is pressure on your sinuses pushing gunk out.

I am currently seeing an osteopath who is treating spinal misalignment to encourage the movement of cerebro spinal fluid, in addition to regularly using self drainage techniques such as lymphatic massage (again, this is explained in the book). This is why some people may find relief as they brush theirs hands across their face - you are pushing the lymph fluid yourself this way.

I have been experiencing symptoms as my body detoxes, such as increased fatigue (I am already bedridden), nausea, migrains, dizziness, feeling spaced out, which is good as it is a sign that toxins which had previously been sequestered in the central nervous system are finally moving out.

This is all purely theoretical and is certainly not proven. The lymphatic system, however, does move via peristalsis (wave like motions), so it is not outside of the realm of possibility that this is the lymphatic system in overdrive. With doctors at a loss and some people reporting an increase in cerebro spinal fluid pressure, it seems as good an explanation as any.

Taking omega-3 fish oil (particularly those high in EPA - check out VegEPA by Ingennus and Prof Puri's book to go with it) helps to lubricate the lymphatic system and heal cellular damage done within the central nervous system.

I hope this might help some people. I sure as hell hope that it is going to help me, but it can be a long road to health. The current estimate from my Perrin osteopath is 2 years based on the scale given in his book.

Fingers crossed!

See my above post and go get an osteopath to sort out that disc in your neck.

Oh, just to add: it mainly happens to me when I am in a relaxed state (attempting sleep/meditate). I view this as the body attempting to initiate repair on itself whilst it is down for rest time. Being highly stressed about it will be detrimental.

I keep remembering things... bloody brain fog :)

ALSO, I got spots where there were pressure sensations indicating a backing-up of toxins. AND I had mild achey pains along my spine, indicating misalignment and problems in the sympathetic nervous system (I left the SNS bit out of my above post but if you check out that book it explains it all).

AND ANOTHER THING...

This is the last one I (think I) promise. I have had some sharp, shooting pains along the left side of my rib cage. This are is the primary locus of the lymphatic system.

Right... I think that is all my anecdotal evidence done for now. I will hopefully post back here in hopefully a few months (but maybe more) and let you all know how things have gone.

Same here ;/ its interfering with my life and I'm always tired. It can be debilitating at times. I cry everyday and wish it goes away. Along with that I have bad insomnia and all the doctors do is just give me pain meds and sleeping pills rather than investigate the underlying problem. If someone knows why this is happening or found a way to get relieved please let us know ;/

this is so true....I have lyme disease and am taking doxycycline with tinidazole.....I noticed that the tinidazole went after the jaw area right away. I tried going off for a while but the jaw problem came right back.
I noticed that I had, for years, been plagued with what they called yeast infections, but , with testing they said it wasn't yeast , but never told me what it was. When I started treating lyme with doxycycline,tinidazole..I haven't ha a yeast infection or felt like that since.
Pleasse note: my jaw swelled my whole left side of face......it looked horrendous and hurt so horribly that they removed all my teeth. note: my teeth were fine w/no infection and the pain was still there for 2 years until diagnosis and treatment. You have to find a willing doctor or doctors that will keep you on this...UNTIL.....all the symptom are gone...TAKE A GREAT PROBIOTIC EVERY TWO HOURS AFTER ANTIBIOTIC.
I've started using beet root crystals made by salus..reason??/ Circulation and tonic for organs...I had to have surgery for lyme arthritis on my left foot...even after surgery 6 mo ago it was still blue....this is changing after taking 1 tbsp. 3 x day for 1 week. Went back to the surgeon for post op and he was shocked..to say the least.
My theory is ...lyme disease clogs up every organ and tissue and I want it to move....especially the lymph glands ....I believe that if circulation is better..the antibiotic will get through and removed.
Also..if you get a crawling feeling on your skin...this ay very well be borrellia or co infection in the skin.
Trust me: I tried everything...Mix up a solution on 1/4 borax to 3/4 apple cider vinegar and rub your entire body...every orifice and let dry for at least 5 minutes....then when you go to rinse off...rub the remaining borax crystals vigorously on your body....That crawling sensation will stop after about a week. (hair and everything)
Note: it must be 20 mule borax ( I only found a walmart) Is supposed to be the purest product ( they say)
I hope this will help others.............A Cure: ???? Life is a journey and sometimes we just need to slow down and take care of what our bodies are YELLING at us.....You are worth it. The world is so busy now and the expectations seem to be : OLD SCHOOL...If you're not in the hospital, you're working! That's the shortest way to your grave... Listen to your body and keep listening, it will show you what it needs.
By the way, if you have lyme disease...the brain fog is the last to clear up...but when it starts...you will be really excited and grateful

Hi Carol have just read your post and your symptoms are so much like mine, I have been everywhere with them with no answers whatsoever consultants at guys run numerous blood test, nothing just wanted to get rid of me. Just wondered the feeling of cold liquid in your face is it aggravated by cold winds or air conditioning. I find if I am somewhere with air conditioning my face feels like it's burning with cold I have to leave even to the point of not being able to work and having to leave my job, I totally depressed and no one seemed to give me any help. It seems to totally rule my life as to what I can and can't do. Have you had any luck with your diagnosis Marion England
