For my Grave's disease my doctor recommended multiple treatments. As I understand, it means that he will apply various kinds of medications and treatments on me. I already past the one with radioiodine, but he was not satisfied with the results. Now he gave me propylthiouracil to use. Has anyone used this medication?
I use propylthiouracil for Grave's disease too. But, beside this my knowledge about this medication is small. I will write you what I found about it. The main function of propylthiouracil is to prevent organification of iodine. If that does not occur, thyroid hormone production increases. These drugs also reduce thyroid antibody levels.
