i was diagnosed with dumping syndrome 10 years ago after suffering for two years with no help. UCSF figured it out in one day and prescribed me a $10 prescription which CURED me within one year, no symptoms....I have been good for this last decade and now symptoms are back. I will go to dr today and ask for the prescription to be filled.....Amitriptyline!!! Elavil! It is a cheap tricyclic antidepressant that worked for me like a miracle, hope it works for me again.....Oh, and no I never had any gastric surgery...my condition is brought on by stress and anxiety...I have a severe anxiety disorder and OCD....when I am disturbed profoundly in my personal life, this comes on...the last time and this time.

What has eluded so many doctors has been the fact that I can go months without symptoms. When I do have them, it starts with a feeling of extreme cold--literally teeth-chattering and shivering, accompanied by nausea. The symptoms only go away after dumping. Sometimes 3+ episodes of diarrhea, and then the cold will subside. Almost always at night, for some reason. Some episodes, I have a sensation of extreme fullness (even if I've eaten virtually nothing) typically with nausea and/or dumping.
A few years ago, I couldn't eat ANYTHING without dumping, so I put myself on the Candida diet (depriving your body of ANY form of sugar, including all starchy foods like beans/potatoes/carrots, as well as dairy, and any vinegar other than apple cider vinegar). I lived on meat (nothing processed), vegetables and nuts. I also took probiotics, and supplements: magnesium, copper, iron and selenium. In 3 weeks, I dropped 11 pounds (so I might not recommend this to people who are already underweight) but my symptoms subsided COMPLETELY. Within a couple months, I was able to eat completely normally, even including small amounts of alcohol, which I hadn't been able to drink in over two years.
I have had the symptoms come back in the last few months, so I am thinking about putting myself back on the Candida diet.
I hope this helps!

I was prescribed an anti-emetic but after doing some research, found that it shouldn't be taken with my antidepressant so I don't take any RX's, i just wear a nausea band daily. I haven't been able to pinpoint any foods that trigger the nausea.
Here's my theory: I think it's related to the Vagus nerve. I often have a weird sensation of tingling all over my body, then comes a flash of REALLY bad nausea, which triggers a sneeze that makes the tingling even worse for just a moment but the nausea is gone. Does anyone else have this?
