I only have this reaction when I wear rubber yellow gloves used to wash dishes, often when water gets inside. And when it begins it would only start on my right thumb first. If I stop using the gloves, they don't continue to develop to other fingers but my thumb would continue to have the effects even after stopping the usage. Sometimes they go to my middle finger and ring finger if i continue to use the gloves. The symptoms are little bumps that develop on my right thumb, and then more bumps appear and after 3-5 days my skin becomes rough and dry, then after 5-7 days it starts peeling (the thumb in this case), mostly when I take showers or expose my hands to water or roughly use them. It usually takes 2-3 weeks after the skin peeling before my hand fully recovers and starts to recover the skin. My hand still feels dry during the recovery process of course. reading all the replies, I'm lucky this is a skin reaction and not a chronic problem for me.
