Hi. It's inspiring to see others have felt similar issues to me. I to have wanted to stop for years. Some how it's managed to take over my life and haven't lived a day without it in around 10 years. When I was younger it was just occasional, i then got into a relationship who had some real issues cannabis being one of them but trust me that was minor compared to his other issues.. at this point cannabis didn't phase me I could take it or leave it, I was in control. Then I fell pregnant, my dad developed cancer and my partner was off the rails. It got so bad even though we had a mortgage and A baby together I had to leave. I moved back home and my dad died, that's when i masked my pain and every day and turned to weed this is how I coped. It's where I found happiness. When I've tried to stop I go crazy thinking of ways to get it. My body temperature keeps changing I feel sick and nauseous but I still have to carry on with normal life and that's when I give in. They say change your lifestyle so I did a fitness diploma did that change anything... Nope!! I can still smoke and teach it just don't effect me.... But it does If I don't smoke! I am at my whits end now with what to do. I guess I've just got to get through it and come out the other side.

Been there. When you can stop for 24 hours, it gets better each day. You have to enjoy being weed-free, 'cause being sober will be like being high. I've gotten to the place where i enjoy my clear mental state. Peace to you with this. I can give you my personal email addy or fb, if you need more help.

Hi, I am also 37 and have been smoking for close to 20 years. The longest I have ever quit was 2 months back in June 2015. Today, I am just a little over nine hours clean. I quit at 12:24 pm today. I'm just so tired of this same old habit. It used to be nice to use every now and then....but not when it's out of control. I have given away, thrown away, and flushed weed, only to go back out and hunt more down. Something about today is different though. When is lit up my blunt this afternoon, all I kept saying in my head is..."why am I smoking this"....so I put it out, with a Nick bag left, I put that away, and this might sound strange, but I actually held that bag in my hand, stared at it, and thought about all the reasons I needed to quit. I put it away again. Went to the store and didn't even buy a blunt for it. I feel great after only a few hours, because deep down inside, I know it's foreal this time. I'm aiming for a 2-year minimum.

Congratulations! Your story is SO much like mine. You'll feel so great after quitting...even after 2-3 days. It's like being sober is the high, so enjoy it!

I'm beginning my journey of eliminating marijuana from my life. I've been smoking on a daily basis for a good three years and before that I was smoking socially for two years. I never realized how dependent I was until I quit five days ago and since have had weed on my brain every second of the day. I've added cooking and working out as new habits to distract me. I did stop cold turkey and was interesting in getting edibles to help me sleep and ween off of this drug. Thoughts?

Your recommendation of using Xanax is absolutely irresponsible. Xanax is an extremely addicting drug and most physicians stopped prescribing it!!!
