Hello ...
I am wondering if you are still satisfied with your choice of surgery to relieve the pain of your MN. I have surgery scheduled in two months and after reading some of these posts am having doubts. I have complete faith in my doctor and after many failed conservative options suggested surgery. I hope you can provide an update!

I had MN surgery the Friday before Thanksgiving. I have knots running down the middle of my foot now the stop right at the arch. When I step or my husband rubs it, it feels like electricity running up to my middle toe. I also can’t bend my middle toe anymore and the others don’t bend all the way down. There is zero bend in the middle one. My foot is still pretty sore as well. Other than my original neuroma, my feet were totally normal. I’ve had a cortisone shot since my surgery and told to go back in 6 weeks for another evaluation. I’m curious if this has happened to anyone else. I’m pretty frustrated by this and don’t want another surgery or anymore injections. Those make my foot hurt worse.

It took me almost 6 years to regain movement in a few of my toes after the surgery. I still don't have full movement but I do have partial movement. More than not being able to move is balance. I've had balance issues since my surgery from the numbness.

Hi,
I was diagnosed by doctors with Mortens Neuroma over a year ago early 2017 after a scan. Most un bearable pain, nerve endings, foot on fire all the symptoms! I play and train football 3 times a week I have since my 20's, you can imagine I thought this was the end of my playing days. Well after seeing so many speacialists, they decide a mixture of injections or worst case to operate!

Cut a long story short - no injections, no operation. I went for self Healing. To start with 4 weeks of pain every hour, after 8 weeks I felt comfort. I could still feel 30% of the pain though, 16 weeks sporadic pain from time to time down to 1 or 2 times a week. under stand I started playing football after the 4 weeks with manageable pain.

After 6 month, 9 months - I am feeling slight tingling but manageable, went back to the docs, another scan. There was no tear in my nerve on the scan.
Doctor exact comment was, how and what did you do? I explained fully the process to a medical student.

Well I wil be glad to advice and explain send me an email ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** posting of private information such as name, phone number or email address is not allowed in order to protect your privacy*** Please read our Terms of Use

A year on playing football scoring goals with no pain, walking running etc etc!

I will get the odd tingle once everybody3 or 4 months.

Cheers
Foz

Maybe a stump neuroma, try a piece of foam between your tours. It may relieve some of the pain immediately!

I had surgery on Morton’s Neuromas on one foot in 1995. Although I could no longer wear many of my shoes, the pain was gone. Five years later I had MN surgery on the other foot. I immediately developed arthritis in my big toe. My Podiatrist told me she “really moved things around in there”. Apparently, that was a terrible idea because I’ve suffered far worse pain with the arthritis than I ever did before! Do not let a Podiatrist do the surgery! I’ve been sorry for the past 18 years.

This statement is impossible. They slice your foot wide open and removed a knot out of the foot. This person says "no pain". That is impossible! I just went through the process, twice. It wasn't too bad. Keep the foot elevated for a week. Get a knee scooter for the next 2 weeks, and then start hobbling around with tennis shoes.
