I'm a 56 year-old male who has reached the age of wanting to make some improvements! I recently had a hair transplant and can relate to some of the comments on facelifts. It's more painful than you're originally told, the side effects last longer, and results can take forever - up to a year. Cosmetic surgeons seem to be famous to try and "sell you" without telling you what to expect.
I'm also considering a facelift, and actually have two good referrals in Thailand, but I get little to no answer from the doctors when I ask if after two weeks in Bangkok I'll be recovered enough to go out and see the city. Now I understand. After reading some of the postings on this board, I'm reconsidering the idea. I think my main question is, how many of the people posting work? The very most I'd be able to take off from work would be three weeks, and it sounds like I'd go back looking pretty swollen and bruised, but it would be very obvious to everyone that I'd had cosmetic surgery (which would cause a lot of talk... the hair transplant already has). I'm also realizing having surgery overseas would prohibit any kind of follow-ups once I returned to the U.S., which could be a potential problem. Has anyone encountered this once they've returned from having this procedure done outside of the U.S.?
