Wow great to find this post. I've had rectal bleeding since my first period at 14. I am sure I read in a girls magazine's problem page that it was perfectly normal and could be rectified with a small op to cut a flap of skin. Anyway, I therefore done nothing about it. I happened to mention it to my gp years later who immediately referred me to a gyno. He said if I've had it since my first period then nothing to worry about and no point in him messing about looking and put it down to endometriosis (which he failed to tell me! I found out from my gp 4 years ago when I thinking about getting pregnant and was worried my Anus was somehow connected to my vagina! Lol I made enquires with my gp who then said the gyno had said endometriosis) anyhoo, since having my twins, I do now get symptoms related to endometriosis. However interestingly when pregnant, it was discovered I have a large fibroid. After my section, the surgeon said I have two fibroids inside the uterus and two outside but the scans during pregnancy only picked up on the large one inside. So my twins are nearly 3. I see a gyno today about treating ny giant fibroid. She disputes me having endometriosis or other fibroids of any significance as a recent scan I had didn't pix up on endometriosis etc. However she was a bit of an eejit. But here's the interesting bit. She took a biopsy of my large intrauterine fibroid this afternoon. Agony I might add. Now, I've just been to the toilet for a poo. I only ever notice rectal bleeding during my period when I have a bowel movement then wipe as in assuming my Anus is too tight for blood to escape without me opening my bowels. Anyway, I don't have me period just now, I had a fibroid biopsy this afternoon and when I did a poo there and wiped...you guessed it..blood! Now I have vaginal bleeding after biopsy but why rectal! I am stunned..confused..interested..any theories? I'll give u update once I see Dr who is going to treat my fibroid by cutting of blood and see what he says!!

Hi, I'm also experiencing the same problem. I am bleeding from the anus, a problem because it causes most of my leaks. I haven't told my parents or doctor, but I should sometime eventually. It started it ever since my very first period. It has almost been a year since I had periods and I still have rectal bleeding. One cause is endometriosis, a disease where the uterus tissue grows outside of the uterus. Common symptoms are, but not limited to: pelvic pain, pain during sexual intercourse, or infertility. It is not related to endometrial cancer. About 25% of woman may not have symptoms, but can still have it. I do not know much, but break a leg (good luck)!

Hi I am 19 years old and have just started having this problem. I started my period on a Saturday and everything seemed normal but I've noticed that every time I poop I have a lot more blood. Idk if it's because of my period or if it's from my rectum. It's nice knowing I'm not alone I will see what happens after my period and go to the doctor

I'm about to turn 27 and have been experiencing this issue for at least 3 years. The rectal pain has lessened in frequency, but I'm still experiencing the bleeding with no diagnosis. I've been told I may have endometriosis but I will not do the surgery just to find out. I'd highly recommend going to see someone who does Mayan Abdominal Massage, and learning about hot castor oil packs for breaking up endometrial tissue.

Hi, How are you doing now? I see this post is nearly a year old. Dark rings under the eyes doesn't necessarily point to your iron levels. Have you considered that it could be an allergy? (possibly diary, as that is one of my reactions to diary). Digestive issues can cause problems though out the body. At the age of 26 I am finally putting together a list of all the signs and symptoms that have been occurring since my teens, though with time these will likely change. Try to take everything you notice into account, ear problems, acne, back pain, energy levels and mood. I hope to hear from you. Take care.

I have the same problem but my doctor told me I was nothing to worry about. she seems to think that it's not really happening and if it was then I'd be severely ill and in the ER. But it's just upset when I'm on my period I bleed out both ends and when I'm done I stop until the next month and I haven't again

Hi I'm not doctor but another person online, I think the headaches cramping and crying could maybe be hormone imbalances, or an underlying cause? Maybe depression? I would see another doctor to see if the migraines can be put to something else you could see if they would prescribe tablets for pain relief.
