Hi
I'm concerned about a red sore that came up on my leg a couple of months ago, I was in the Caribbean and put it down to a mosquito bit.
Well it hasn't gone away and it's grown. It's very red although not an open sore and just as it looks like it's about to heal, dry skin develops over it again that looks all flaky.
So the bottom line is it's a pinky red colour about the size of a UK 20p piece with dry flaky skin, it's dry not an open sore and it wont go away?
Any ideas anyone?
Many thanks

Considering it’s been present for so long, I would think of it as a pimple or an ingrown hair. When these bumps get inflamed, they become really sore and painful, red and swollen. It may take them before they go away on their own.
I get these from time to time and I keep squeezing and squeezing but nothing really happens, I only make it bigger or more painful.
You may want to try to put some warm compresses on it, to see if it would become softer and easy to get rid of but you may also want to see a dermatologist to make sure what it really is and you may even get an antibiotic or a special ointment these docs always have to remove this bump.
