I am 27 and on May 16th i had a hysterectomy for a rather large fibroid (among other reasons). I had light bleeding for the first 3 weeks which then ended and then about a week and half later it started again. i have been taking it easy--no heavy lifting. And i am just curious to know if it is normal for bleeding to reappear.

To follow up to this: since the bleeding has started again i have also felt like i have my period---my stomach is constantly upset, i have slight constipation and at times i also have sharp pains in my abdomen. I am sitting at home with the understanding that a rather large fibroid was removed along with my cervix and that i also have polycystic ovarian disease. I have suffered from endometriosis and fibroids in the past. The pcod is new to me.

Is the pcod causing the problem? I am looking to hear what someone who has suffered from this in the past has to say. I know nobody who has any of these problems( not family not friends) and i have another week before i go for my follow up appointment.

Thanks to anyone who responds.

Kristina
When you find out what your problem is please let me know because I am experiencing the exact same problems as yourself, and I am two weeks out from my Hysterectomy.

hi

luckily for me it was only one more week of bleeding and it was just as light as it was following surgery. and
from what i could read it was possible that it was still just post operative bleeding. my recommendation to you is to take it even easier than you have been told you need and make sure that nothing comes anywhere near your stomach. i had three weeks of bleeding post surgery that was very light so i wasnt worried but when it came back i believe that it was possible that an injury to my stomach was the reason (more like i have pets that like to walk all over me). bleeding can occur for up to six weeks following surgery so just be careful

i hope that maybe this helps as at the present moment i dont know what else to say but i have a follow up appointment next week so i hope to find out if it is possible for it to happen again
