I had a rhinoplasty just to correct the bump in my nose, did not want anything else touched. It has been 7 days and my nose is so swollen and I look like a lion. I heard most goes down in 7 days. My nose looks wider and longer than before. Tell me this is only temporary. Doctor said he didn't touch anything in the front just the bump.
Thanks for any info someone may have.

I have the same problem I had my nose narrowed and its bigger than before now and looks like a pigs or lions. I would attach a photo but its impossible on here I cannot figure it out. the doc keeps telling me it will shrink but in my mind it should look different at least a little bit right away? sigh...the last thing I want is an even BIGGER nose

Hi,
I had my closed rhinoplasty done 2 weeks ago, by a surgeon that everyone considers the best...and most expensive. I only wanted my small bump removed and the bridge brought in a little coz it always looked bruised before, (apparently i fell over and this was the cause of both). After they took the cast off i was devastated, I looked like a freak! Everyone keeps telling me it's the swelling and the tip will drop so it looks normal and the nostrils aren't visble. How long?! I'm so upset. My profile looks great, but from the front i look like a lion/pig. It feels too short and you can see my nostrils.

When i think about it, i could've lived with my old slightly bumpy, big nose (i actually quite liked it), but not this... Help! Is anyone else still experiencing this lion/pig stage?

Hi I had my surgery on September 15, 2009. Ill be honest I still kinda look like a pig, but dont freak out...I am being really critical and no one else notices it. I still have swelling in my bridge and tip and its still bigger than it was before my surgery. Again, no one can notice but me and my PS. My bestfriend got hers done like 4 years ago and told me it took about a year to a year and half to get back to normal. I really would say I started looking normal about 3-4 months after my surgery. However since I know myself and every detail of my face, I know I have a little ways to go. According to my PS it will take about a year for all if not most of my swelling to go down, wish they would have told me before but I think they know people would freak out and not do it, and they are RIGHT. Anyway hang in there and you'll see gradual changes, this is all a patient waiting game. :-)
