My daughter, 28, had her gall bladder removed 2 1/2 years ago. About 6 months ago, she developed a shape pain on her right side where the gall bladder was. The pain radiates around to her right back area. She also has trouble eating, bloating, reflux, and gas. Recently she has a CAT scan done which showed that there is scar tissue which has attached to the intestine. The doctor believes that this is the cause of the pain and the other problems she is having. When she asked about having the scar tissue removed, the doctor stated that even if this was removed, other would develop. She is now thinking that she will have to live with this forever. It effects her daily activities and feels sick all of the time. I would like to know if the scar tissue can be removed so that her intestine works the way that it should, what procedure can be done, and will new scar tissue develop causing the same problem she now has. We are all desperate to find an answer. Hope you can help!!

I read the "just wondering" about the 28 year old who had her gal bladder removed and is living with pain from adhesion's. There wasn't a response to the question. We who are living with excruciating pain as a result of adhesion's after surgery need help. I had two Laprascopic Adhesiolysis by Dr. Reich (world renown doctor who developed the procedure); however, the adhesions grew back. I've exhausted every known way of trying to get rid of the pain but nothing lasts. I live with pain most of the time. I'm presenting taking Methadone and Lorcet but it isn't stopping the pain. I hope and pray there is an answer somewhere out there.

I am going in tomorrow to have scar tissue removed by the Da Vinci Robot and this will be my 4th time to try to have it removed but they also think it is endometriosis since it keeps coming back so quickly so they are going to take out my uterus as well. My Dr said there is a smaller chance of it coming back using the robot b/c it can cut so precise so maybe this is something you might want to check on. From what I have read they are still just a few Dr's that are trained to use to Da Vinci Robot so it may take a while to find one. I am Dr. Sellers in Little Rock, Arkansas at Baptist hospital if that happens to be any where close to you. Hope that helps some and to be honest I am hoping it fixes my pain b/c I have been dealing with this god offle pain for going on 2 years.

Im 47 and had galbladder surgery alone with severeal others abdomin surgeries. I am in constant pain it is under my rib cage like I can hold the part in my hand where one of the scars are but the pain now goes around my back it is like I get tired easily from the pain. My doctor has done so many test and finds nothing alarming he says it has to scar tissue and scar tissue is dreadfully painful. It is bad to for us to have surgery (to help us) but the surgery only causes more pain. I think we need to thank hard before agreeing to surgery and just do it if it is life threatning.

I had surgery due where scar tissue was remove from my intestines becasue if they don't remove it and your intestines start to fold over as was the case for me, they will die off and have to be cut away. I had 10" of mine remove because they died off and they reattached to my colon the doctor I had was great and he was here and gone. I was meant to have him. I would see another surgeon rihgt away!!!!!!!

I am replying to all of the scar tissue postings. I have had 24 abdominal surgeries including, bowl resection, bowl obstruction, all ovaries and tubes removed, then full hysterectomy and severe endometriosis.....My last surgery had lots of complications with my bowl being twisted off with endometriosis and I almost died. This has been an on going issue for the last 30 years. It has been 13 years since my last surgery. I am now having severe left side pain, which I believe is endometriosis which feels like my internal parts are attached to my body and inside cavity. I mainly feel severe pain when I eat anything. The only way to fix this is more surgery, which does create more scar tissue and endometriosis has no cure. This is frustrating that the only way to get rid of the pain is surgery! It does effect your daily life and eating too! I am amazed that a CT Scan can detect scar tissue! It has not been able to do so in the past, so that is a plus, but there has to be some doctors that specialize in these issues! We should not have to live in severe pain and on pain killers. I have had surgeons in my area tell me that they will not touch me because I have had too many surgeries and that is unacceptable for a doctor or surgeon to just put me off because I am a risk??? If anyone has found a surgeon that is willing to deal with these issues, please let me know?? I feel for all of you because it is no fun and does seem to effect our lives in a negative way and impact! It is like living with a disease! Hope this was helpful and I hope that we all can find some relief and a surgeon that will tackle these issues? Maybe even a specialist in the field?

I wish I could offer comfort.  But instead I am writing about the same thing.  My daughter's  gallbladder removal (later deemed unnecessary) has developed painful scar tissue.  She has been fired for an inabilty to be as "peppy and smiley" as she used to be at the daycare center. She was written up for telling kids not to touch her right side, and for her attendance.

I am so very angry!  I do not know where to even begin!  She is 30 and this is it?  NOT acceptable!!

Having the exact same problem. Have you found ANY KIND OF SOLUTION which helps with having some kind of livable condition?? Don't think I can handle living with this much pain on top of other spinal cord & broken joint conditions causing me to be housebound already for 18 yrs.  thank you for your time <3
