I’m 25 and am 5 months pregnant. My Pap-test two months ago was abnormal and I was advice to do a colposcopy which I did and the result was carcinoma in situ. I couldn’t believe the diagnose I went home and was desperate for days. Don’t ask me how but I felt it just can’t be so I visit another doc and my pap-test showed mild dysplasia which was reconfirmed on colposcopy test again. And I was advised not to have any procedure for it’s not a condition that much serious. I wonder now how come my second colpscopy showed the opposite.

It is happening tough it’s really rare that colposcopy test show opposite which was your case. You’ve done it well to recheck your Pap-test which was false positive so you could have been treated of something that doesn’t exist. but on the other hand it’s even worse having a failed negative colposcopy test in which case you may lose a chance to be cured. I think I’ve already heard of some similar case when women got false positive results but her problems were resolved by the time she reached the colposcopist, but as I said much severe is false negative result where the patient failed to get the write diagnose. So what else to say it’s obvious that regular pap-test followed by colposcopy if needed is a must, but sometimes it’s better to have then rechecked just in case of being false diagnosed for it can be two false diagnoses in a row.
