I just started getting seizures in my sleep a couple months ago, so far 2 that I know of because of my roomates coming into the room because my dogs are barking and freaking out. But I get the intense déjà vu feelings with feel as well that leaves an empty stomach feeling and sudden heat flash, I'm going to go to the doctor soon about it but Iam glad to see Iam not alone with this scary episode.

This is exactly what is happening to my husband, he is 35 & MANY football concussions. Only 3 total and with in the last year in a half. I'm just trying to figure out the underlying cause!

Yeah Spraggins I've been doing some research and have heard others mention the deja vu feelings and this was kind of weird because I have had those feelings since I was a kid and I didn't have my 1st seizure until this year and I'm now 40! I believe the 2 must somehow be linked though. ???

I think it is more common then we realize. I was just diagnosised with seizures only while sleeping. My EEG showed that I was having an anxiety attack, showing I was sleep deprived amongst other things. I was completely shocked when I heard that. As far as I know no one on either side of my family had this. I'm now doing research to find out more about it.

I can empathize with you...my boyfriend just started having seizures about two months ago with no history of epilepsy. He has had three total within the two month span, only one happened while he was awake. I haven't slept a whole night through since his first seizure and because I'm so terrified of every little movement he makes in his sleep, I end up waking him up by tossing and turning and leaning over him to make sure he's breathing. However, he is now on keppra and I am learning what to do and how to help him during these episodes. The best thing we can do for our loved ones during and after a seizure is to stay calm and be the stability they desperately need after something so scary. Good luck

My 17 years old daughter was born with gray matter heterotopic in the back right/left temporal lobes, which causes uncontrollable seizures. Tried every medication, with no helpful results. Using felbamate is a last resort. How dangerous is this medication?
