Seroquel is actually an extremely well tolerated drug. Therapeutic doses go up to 1 gram. There is a small risk of blood pressure reactions when starting the medication, which can be exacerbated by alcohol or pot. This may lead to a fainting spell or a similar epsidode- unfortunately the anxiety from this is really the most dangerous, people will feel better after laying down.

Other than that, pretty much the only thing that alcohol does to these types of psychiatric medications is make them less effective. Alcohol changes the receptors in your brain and therefore it takes higher doses to reach positive results. Don't drink every day. And smoking pot is fine if you're not bipolar, if you are its up to how you act on it. If it doesn't control your life then its probably at the bottom of the list of things bringing you down socially and mentally.

Source- been on wellbutrin 450mg XL, 30 mg Lexapro, and 100 mg Seroquel for years. 24 year old male. Currently getting my phD in biomedical sciences and have an IQ of 150. And a 4.0 GPA (but it is only my first year)

Smoked a sh*t load of pot, blown a sh*t load of coke and heroin, done a sheet of acid, some shrooms and X, and even DMT once (which is awesome...) Plus I drank a lot.

Had a physical with a liver function test- completely normal. And in case you were wondering, my severe depression was diagnosed when I was 13. I started the antidepressants before I ever did an illegal drug or drank. But I started that mayhem when I was 17.

People have tons of anxiety about this sh*t, which causes lots of stress, which is actually worse than any illegal substance (maybe not PCP.... don't ever do PCP........)

Other than that be proud of your choices, if your choices are prideful.

I guess it all depends on what you can live with. Also everyone is different, take different amounts and are looking for different results. What I can say that might be of some help relates to the fact that this drug has potentially creepy side effects which can sometimes be made dramatically more severe with the addition of alcohol. I have experienced this and while drinking helped me get to sleep on seroquel, I became dependent as ever on the combination since without the drinking my side effects from the pills made me really wish I were dead. I had to quit both and go on different meds. But if some of these stories are true then obviously for some people the experience is different. I just can't say I'd recommend the combination. Of course now I take massive amounts of lithium and drink responsibly on occasion when I'm reading all over the internet that it's supposedly a lethal combination. Considering how relatively normal I feel when drinking I just don't think that information pertains to me at all. My heart is still pounding and good luck lowering my metabolic rate one bit! But yeah, if you drink all day and all night you should maybe just be happy with being an alcoholic ? What's the point of taking drugs that are supposed to be a part of your recovery plan? I realized like is screwed up and convoluted I'm just wishing people cared enough about themselves to not take anything for granted. The time is now, your future lies in wait. Let us all be great-full for what we have been given. There is always someone worse off than me or you.

I take 100 mg of seroquel at night for sleep. I also take 1 mgs of klonopin a day for anxiety and percocet for my back bc i have TONS messed up with it. On top of all this i take 100mgs of zoloft. I hardly ever drink but i drank tonight and i felt none of the alcohol whatsoever, so im going to take my seroquel, does anyone of you have side effects to this medication?

I have awful dreams and wake up soaking wet with night sweats, ive tried trazadon which is worse and also ambien and thats the only thing that works best with no side effects. but I guess doctors cant gove klonopin or xanex with ambien .....to much sleeping stuff. ?

drugs are sick. honestly i have bros who do blow like three times a week and all have like 3.6 gpas and are going to incredible law and med schools. i know a bunch of adults who did acid and coke and make shitloads of money and are extremely successful. they say that their brains work fine, the only difference is that as u get older the come down gets a shitload worse.

for the most part, the only drugs u need to worry about drinking on are really f*****g intesne pain killers, like methadone and such. there are few other exceptions, u'd have to be retarded to not figure it out.

best advice, keep getting screwed up. Bros are the sh*t

Lol I just got a kick out of reading everyones replys. Sounds to me like most of yall are addicts. Don't worry though I just got outa rehab myself. I take 150mg serequil + .1 MG of clanadine everynight for sleep and have had no trouble with drinking. The only risk I have is that serequil + clonadine and drinking can lower my blood pressure so low that it might cause a problem.

either way, I think most of you guys should consider going to rehab. The only end to this problem is "JAILS INSTETUTIONS or DEATH" GL i hope u can all get the help you need.

look up seroquel and alcohol drug interactions at . mixing alcohol and seroquel only magnifies the cognitive impairment from seroquel. it sounds like a lot of people drink on seroquel.

I take 100mg of Seroquel everynight and i drink on it all the time as well as i take Lamotrigine a mood stabilizer twice a day now, all that seems to happen on Seroquel is that it really sedates me more, sometimes i get a rapid heartbeat too, iam trying to slow down on my drinking it is very bad to drink on medications but a lot of people don't really think about that.

First of all don't listen to people who take seroquel because we all have problems that leads to drinking and doing drugs that's why we take seroquel
