You might also research myofacial pain - these are the closest I've gotten relief. Once the burning pain went away, I was able to work on my symptoms as they were more isolated and easier to deal with rather than trying to manage pain everywhere. I bought a book in trigger point Therapy ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***
I seem to manage pain better than before. My headaches are few and far between. While I feel better, I'm not 100%. I'm still not sure what's going on and I've had this pain for years. It hurt me so bad, that I am grateful now to have some relief. If anyone has something that worked for them, I'd love to know!

Have any of you been check for brachial plexus damage? Doc seems to think that's my problem. Had an MRI and turns out I have 3 disks, C3 to 5 all moderate bulging. Problem is my symptoms do not match to these disks. In fact the doc is pretty amazed I have no symptoms that match these.
Going in for another MRI for the bp, and a electromyography this next week. Kaiser put me on the fast track after I had a sit down with my primary. DOC feels PT, epidurals, etc would be useless. She feels surgery is the answer so skipping all of the lower level procedures. Even meeting with the neuro-surgeon the day after my tests. Doc wants to get things fixed before the damage gets too far down the road.
To control the pain tried nordtryptiline, but after two weeks could not sleep, very emotional and so on. Doc has me on 15 mg morphine er twice daily and 5 mg percocet, 1 or 2 every 6 hours for breakout pain. Seem to be comfortable right now with 3 perc average each day. Know I'll have to do recovery for the med's after this is all over, but that's a small price to pay.

I would recommend seeing a good chiropractor, as it was an answer to my 6 long months of pain.

After finding a good chiropractor and getting a few adjustments my pain went away. I hope this helps.

I have the same issue in my right shoulderblade/neck/arm. Here are a few things that work for me -
1. lower the keyboard so when you type the shoulders are relaxed.
2. use a different mouse (i switched to one with buttons on the side and it made a big difference)
3. massage (i bought a massage chair and the pain would completely go away for a few days after a vigorous 30 min massage).
4. let my 6 year old step on me while I lie flat on the carpet :-)
FYI - I had a car accident a few years ago and I also work A LOT in front of computers. I am still searching for a cure; but things are under control. My keyward is "movement".
