Noticed my last post my screen is SheSin!  Cool.
All the test are done, met with the ortho last week.  This ortho only does elbows and hands.  Seems I have a couple of things.   Severe cubital tunnel in right arm, C3-C5 disk issues affecting mostly left side!  All acted up around the same time.
Going in 9-17 for the transposition surgery.   He thinks it's the combo of the elbow and neck causing the innocent muscles, i.e. shoulder, to act up.
Saw the neck ortho, thinks my neck will settle out once we do the surgery.  Both think neck surgery is not necessary now.
Looking forward getting the surgery and starting the road back to normalcy.  Been too long since I've been able to get any surfing in, though I know it will be several months of recovery and PT before I will be able to, but it's something to look forward to.

I have now had 3 "flare ups" in the past month. I have been to both my family doctor and my orthopedic doctor. All I am getting are pain shots, steroid shots, trip to have MRIs, and a prescription for Neurotin, which is now increased to 600MG, 3x daily. My third trip to see the ortho doc is on Monday. My most recent "flare up" was just two days ago. Literally could not walk, it caused so much pressure on my neck, and the pain in my shoulder, down my arm and into my shoulder blade was unbearable. Any motion of my neck and right arm, can cause the pain to start. By time I am ready to sit for the day, the throbbing pain in my neck is really bad, and I am unable to raise my right arm. There has to be help. I do not want to live like this any longer. My docs say they are going to try to send me to someone who deals with THORACIC OUTLET SYNDROME, we will see. It has been a long road of struggles. I have noticed that I am getting slight fluttering in my chest and some jerking motions in my right arm. Not sure if it is from this condition.

Go to a good chiropractor, they will be able to help. I had the same problem and had been treated in a similar way as you, but I did not get results until I saw a chiropractor.

If anyone has gone and gotten favorable results, please let me know.

A joint in my neck was misaligned and pressing on a muscle in my shoulder area. The chiropractor just "cracked" in back into the correct position. After about two visits I was pain free and several session there after, have corrected other issues that have arose as well.

MRI without contrast was negative, bloodwork was negative..just dehydrated.(prob meds :). Orthopedic doc said he wanted to see results of MRI, and give another injection. If anyone is coundting..thats 6 steroid injections in 3 months. I am just about to give up the fight. Time to just deal with it. I will bring up the idea of a chiropractor. Thanks. (indianawoman)

I was run over by a car earlier this year and I have been feeling this back/shoulder pain ever since. PT made it worse, it sometimes radiates to my neck. I have tried many things, tens, stretching, ulrasound, the only thing that seems to work is medical marijuana.

Try seeing a Chiropractor before adjusting yourself. This can do more damage than good. It might feel better for a few days, but everything is connected and if you 'pop' one spot, it could effect many others.

Possible problem/solution! I have the same exact pain and it comes after I have been doing computer work for several hours. I found that my office chair was too low (only by a little) and the strain on my shoulder joint over that amount of time was irritating and inflamming my shoulder and muscles around it. I found a chair that sits higher so my right arm gets to hang down a little more and I don't get the pain as quickly. I still get it a little if I stay a very long time on the computer but it definitely helps. Once I've been slouching even on my higher chair the pain can start and once it does, even correcting my posture that day does not help. I have to start a new day once the inflammation goes down.

I hope this helps someone.

My story is quite similar to yours and Darrel_in_pain who also replied to your post. I was diagnosed with TOS after many, MANY doctor appts, theories and a surgery. A secondary surgery for TOS (first rib resection) was preformed. Although the surgery helped relieve the pain and numbness in my arm, I awoke from surgery with an intense sharp pain in my shoulder blade area. The pain intensified over the years and became a constant distraction in my everyday life - to the point of almost daily crying from the pain. I've spent 15 years going from doctor to doctor getting physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, massages, acupuncture and pain management steroid trigger point injections and nerve blocks. A prescription for Tramadol helped ease the pain in some instances, but after awhile, it no longer helped. Finally, a new chiropractor was referred to me by two different people who had experienced pain relieving results. This chiropractor discovered through manipulation and x-rays that evidently during the TOS surgery a rib had been displaced. Once he maneuvered the rib back into place, I experienced instant, but not complete relief. Since the tissues around the rib were displaced, it is taking some time to retrain the tissues to hold the rib in its proper place and relax. The pain is now mild in comparison and no longer dominates my entire daily thought processes. I am now finally hopeful for a future without pain. I hope this helps you and Darrell.

I will never contemplate surgery unless they know EXACTLY that this will fix the problem. Too many complications and from everything I am learning from these posts- there's not ONE post that claims the surgery fixed the problem.

Hey guys,
So did you find some kind of solution to
brachial plexitis due to an autoimmune disease. Pressure and compression makes the blood vessels in the brachial plexus (the bunch of nerves that go to your arm, upper chest, and upper back) get more inflammed and so you have more symptoms when you use your arm. Taking out the first rib can lower the compression, but the pathology is in the "blood vessels" that are very dense in neruological tissue of the brachial plexus.
Let me know please

I had the same problem for years and I had heard rumors of mechanics, sports figures and veterinarians using WD40 on their painful knees shoulders and elbows. Well, I had a can kicking around my garage. I sprayed my shoulder and could not believe it but the pain went away within ten minutes. I started a website and many people have told me of their success stories about WD40 and their pain relief for all these areas plus foot and ankle pain.

The site is: http://www.facebook.com/groups/482460338439694/?fref=ts

I hope this relieves your pain as quickly as it did mine.
